I would recommend set the event in a city where there is a convention going on. Those who wish to meet at a park/campsite location can still do so in the same city where the convention is happening and probably make arangements via email or phone to those in charge of that location to have this...

i like the idea of piggy backing another Con. Otherwise, i would recommend Vegas. They usually always have cheap special deals for air fare and hotel stay.

I'm down with a Eberron setting, not so sure about the low power aspect to it, but a lighting rail train is a great idea for a new room (lots of Pulp feel or Noir feel if you want to go that direction...and even Under Seige 2 feel! or Soul Train hmm....). ;)

In-character logic standpoint? Who goes to a tavern to get their wounds treated? And moreover, what would make these characters think that was normal? A lot would be suspicious of someone coming into a drinking establishment wanting a doctor to treat their bleeding, gaping wounds. a drunk...

Beegee... what can i say about someone who is the constant silent listener to our woes and problems, gives away drinks and excellent food fare. . . Other then being rock hard and built like a brick? Okay...built well in all the right places, gotta give credit due to the sculptors there...
