Pathfinder 1E Concerned about the Rogue's Trap Spotter Talent

My group has two rogues with Trap Spotter and they use it mainly to speed things up in the game. They don't actively have to search, so they can move through the dungeon more quickly. If you're already giving clues, that makes it somewhat less valuable of a feat, frankly.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Publishing Makes Inc Magazine's Top 5000

Glad to see that they're doing so well. I've rarely regretted a book I bought from Paizo and I've never regretted a hardback purchase. I certainly can't say that about most versions of D&D.

Pathfinder 1E Post here if you're a PATHFINDER RPG fan!

Another Pathfinder fan here. It's the game we're currently playing in my group and it is the main game I buy these days. Both Paizo and Super Genius have gotten many dollars from me.

    OD&D November 2013--Deluxe OD&D Reprint (White Box + Supplements I-IV)

I have trouble believing I'd ever miss 2e. :p But your point is taken.

    OD&D November 2013--Deluxe OD&D Reprint (White Box + Supplements I-IV)

Well, I can't claim great virtue on the White Box -- my dad got it. And I got lucky with the Deities & Demigods and got it for $20 used about 20 years ago. I have kept the stuff I actually bought, though I have thought about selling off my 2e stuff. If anyone would be willing to buy it. :p

    OD&D November 2013--Deluxe OD&D Reprint (White Box + Supplements I-IV)

Pretty cool. My white box set is one of my favorite game possessions, along with my first printing Deities & Demigods. Maybe they'll print some of the books alone? I don't have the Greyhawk supplement, which always annoyed me, since it's my favorite setting.

Suggestion: Don't have size affect ability scores

Obviously I'm not explaining myself well enough here. My idea is that size doesn't increase your strength *stat*, so we don't see 3e-style Str score bloat. (I understand 4e is much the same way.) Here's how it would work: A halfling with a Str of 10 can carry 50 pounds and does a d6 with his...

Suggestion: Don't have size affect ability scores

I'm a 3e/Pathfinder fan, but one thing I've always found a tad ridiculous as stat bloat. Oh, the mental stats aren't too insane, usually, but it's not unusual to see a monster with a 30, 40, or even 50+ Strength score. My suggestion for 5e is: don't do this. Size should have an effect, but...

D&D 5E How quickly should ability scores increase in 5e?

If ability scores are replacing skills, then they kind of have to go up with levels; or you need some other mechanism to have them improve with level. They haven't told us much yet, but I'm thinking there won't be a lot of stat increases. I think you'll have your Dex stat, with your dancing...

"Much of Older D&D Material To Be Re-Released?"

Since you have "attorney" in your name, you should know exactly what he means. ;) I'm sure that they'd love to re-release everything. But do they actually have full rights to everything? You'd think so, but the whole Dragon Magazine archive CD debacle showed that isn't necessarily so. What...

D&D 5E What the heck were they thinking?! There's going to be "fire" in D&D 5th Edition!?

This was a big ol' fight that happened in the run up to 3e. Sonofapreacherman doesn't like the way fireball worked in 2e, where you had a little pellet that flew through the air and then exploded into the fireball. I don't remember exactly what he DID want, but he wanted it really, really...

    D&D 5E Multi-class support in 5E

Which is a problem that Pathfinder fixed. I'd happily play a Pathfinder fighter to 20th level. I'd happily play any of the Pathfinder classes to 20th level. And you can bet the design crew has studied Pathfinder, since that is their competition.

D&D 4E WotC this is something you absolutely cannot screw up in 5E like you screwed up in 4E

Yeah, brontosaurus is the proper name and apatosaurus is the wrong one. Even the spell check agrees with me.

D&D 5E Should classes retain traditional alignment restrictions in 5E?

If you are going to have the paladin and monk as they have been done in the past, they have to be LG and lawful respectively. It's part of what they are. Monk would be easier to change, but if you make a paladin that isn't LG, it's not really a paladin any more. A holy warrior class is...

"Much of Older D&D Material To Be Re-Released?"

I don't see anything wrong with WotC starting to do adventure paths. The more good campaigns out there, the better. I don't know about Dungeon now, but I always found its quality spotty in the past. As for an in-print Dragon -- I would love that. I subscribed until the end and I'd subscribe...

What doesn't belong in the "core"

That's good to know. It wasn't my impression from what I had heard about 4e and what I knew from the previous editions. Good to hear I'm wrong on that. :)

What name would you like the next iteration of D&D to bear?

Given that D&D 5e has 10 times as many votes as D&D Next, and plain D&D has twice as many votes as that, I think D&D Next is dead in the water. Assuming they listen to us. :)

What name would you like the next iteration of D&D to bear?

D&D 5e. That's what it's going to be called by those of us on the internet and, really, who else are we going to listen to? :p

    D&D 5E Multi-class support in 5E

Not so! In Pathfinder, you can multiclass exactly like in 3e, but most characters don't have to. Classes are modular, especially as they add more splatbooks, and it's easy to switch out the powers you don't want for ones you do. It's not entirely flexible -- you'd still have to multiclass to...

What doesn't belong in the "core"

Maybe WotC could ask Paizo really, really nicely to use their gnomes? It's the first type of gnome I've seen with an actual purpose. Halflings, though, don't need to worry. They'll be there. And they were BAD MOFOs in 3e! I played an all-halfling party once. No one saw us until we were...
