Drizzt stories read by Weird Al, Dan Harmon, Ice-T, Sean Astin, etc.

So this is weird: http://www.audible.com/mt/Drizzt?bp_ua=yes&source_code=AUDORWS0811149AIN I know Drizzt is a divisive character around these parts, but this is a free download (for a limited time), and the list of narrators is... interesting, to say the least: Sean Astin Al Yankovic Ice-T...

    D&D 5E The Essence of D&D

[This post started as a response to an excellent post in another thread, which you can find here. It got very long and general and wandered wildly off-topic, so I figured I'd post it as a new thread instead.] D&D is D&D. I know that it has changed over time, and that different people see and...

D&D 5E Three cheers for Mearls and Co.!

I just wanted to take a moment out of the low-level grumbling to thank the D&D 5E design team for putting together what's looking to be a fantastic game. For some of us, this is the version of D&D we've been waiting for for a long, long time. For others, it's not quite what they were hoping...

    D&D 5E Naked AC AWOL?

The armour table in Basic doesn't include an entry for "Unarmoured", and I haven't come across the rules anywhere else yet. Now, you and I know that unarmoured characters have AC 10 + Dex Mod, but a new player doesn't know that. An oversight, or have I missed it somewhere?

D&D 5E NEWSFLASH: New Version of Dungeons and Dragons Doesn't Please Everyone!

A fortnight of previews of the forthcoming edition of the One True Game has culminated in the release of a sample character sheet and a picture of some goblins. Almost immediately, several role-playing messageboards were “critically hit” by dozens of protests. While ordinary folk went about...

Dumb Luck: Reclaiming the Lower Half of the Stat-Spectrum

Okay, so it's my opinion that rolling 3d6 for stats is the way to go. Why? Because I like what the element of chance does for character creation, and I like the idea of flawed heroes - they're just more interesting. And why have a stat range of 3-18 if you're only going to use the top half...

Simple Skill Challenge Fix - The 1:1 System

Okay, this may not fix the skill challenge maths in as much detail as say, Stalker0's system (http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=229796), but it's a lot simpler: Simply set the Success/Failure ratio for ALL skill challenges at 1:1. ie. 3 successes before 3 failures, or 5 successes before 5...
