If a character or even monster has at least 21 hit dice but i different levels, does that make them epic, or do all the hit dice have to be in one class? For example: lvl 21 wizard = epic lvl 11 wizard/lvl 10 rogue = epic or not? I want to know this for the purpose of knowing...

Another thing, all the archomentals are immune to petrification except Ogremoch. Do you think that might be saying he doesn't need the immunity because he is already stone?

Wait, are you saying that what the earth elemental is made of depends on how you conjure it? I never knew that. Anyway, petrification effects are usually described as "turn to stone", so couldn't a DM rule that an earth elemental made of stone is unaffected and an elemental made of dirt or clay...

How do you think elementals react to petrification? Do they turn into earth elementals? Would an Earth elemental even be affected? :confused:

I would prefer the CR 17 stats from the creature catalog. I don't need Imix's stats because he is in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil.

I guess since he's sort of on the chaotic side, he should be able to change his shape, so if a dm wants to use him, they can make his size whatever they want. As far as classes, I suppose he could be a cleric/wizard, but plain outsider also makes sense to me

Does that mean to create an entirely new creature I would have to make up a new spell by studying and spending a lot of gold pieces in a big library? Or is there a spell I am not thinking of that can make some new species?
