    D&D General Kara Tur 5e

What I might like to see: An honor system organized broadly around concepts like 面 (~one's image in public ), 臉, (~one's inward/personal reputation and 顏 (~sensitivity). Serious consequences when one messes up for a variety of social situations. Pulling from the respective Magic: The Gathering...

    Are Ghosts Real? (a poll)

Should meaningfully add this isn't limited to ppls dwelling in rural or out-of-the-way places. When I was visiting my grandparents overseas who lived in a small city, as a teenager I wanted to go to the swimming pool which was in walking distance because it was hot. I was explicitly forbidden...

    Are Ghosts Real? (a poll)

Adding that the malign influences in Spiritualism in the 19th century, which preyed on decent ppls' grief and irrevocably changed their personal association with those they were connected with, plays a factor in why skepticism is high regionally.

    Are Ghosts Real? (a poll)

Spooky stories (that could involve ghosts) also serve that cultural purpose in keeping community members who dwell in more rural areas informed of places that legitimately aren't safe e.g. wandering by yourself late at night in a jungle.

    What is adventuring?

Laughing emoji was strictly for Keanu Reeves cast as Marco Polo. :ROFLMAO:

    (Netflix) K-POP DEMON HUNTERS

Secretly pining that someone would mention this animation! One reason I think this surprised many is that it is approachable enough such that even if you aren't familiar with the subculture in KPop or idol culture in general, you'll get it. At the same time, it's pretty obvious the film makers...

Fully anticipate characters from this in cosplay scene, at cons for the rest of this year, & Halloween.

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

How you answered was great; mainly, was curious to see if there were any factors beyond the game, that that you felt constructively helped with ensuring the different campaigns went on for as long as it did.

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

Could you share roughly how much time these were in length, and hours per session? What positive factors did you find helpful in each of above groups?

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

I'm glad this comment was made; I feel like based on other threads, my current table's progression is on the slower end of the pace spectrum (we just finished Session 17 this weekend; play has been a little over a year). I worry sometimes though the feedback has been positive.

D&D General 70% Of Games End At Lvl 7?

To better my understanding, what's your rough guess on how many years the 5 campaigns took in total?

So you're done with D&D but still want to play D&Dish fantasy...

One trend that I've noticed in terms of designer intentions, are games that have systems which explicitly encourage play towards other goals besides combat encounters and loot. Setting obvious like BRP aside which developed roughly the same time, I think everyone agrees that combat and loot...

Worlds of Design: In the Shadow of Tolkien

This hold true in terms of being a presence in ppls' lives. Separate from the IP which has an official game, I expect there will be some influence coming from it. (e.g. I mean, I have cabbage guy in my campaign...)

Worlds of Design: In the Shadow of Tolkien

Can confirm, among the 1st characters I played in AD&D was a kenku.

Worlds of Design: In the Shadow of Tolkien

Through the past few decades, I've come across more quotes from Sir Terry Prachett's body of work, particularly the Discworld series, than the others.

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

Some of the responses elsewhere I've encountered with this article, is that Mearls' attempts to set up game iteration based on the conceit of generation, but cites examples that are supposed to be definitive, yet are ones that had been in use decades prior to when he places them-- just not in...

Which Chips (or Fries) Are the Best?

I'll defer to UK/Commonwealth ppls, as it was some time back when I went (I've gone a few times). Most places probably don't hand cut stuff anymore unfortunately. Do have family who were American ex-pats in the North for 20 years; they commented a lot after they moved back about the thickness...

Which Chips (or Fries) Are the Best?

The closest "style" of fry in the US that'd be like one from a chippie shop would be the steak fry. "...steak fries and British chips are not the same. While steak fries are thick and rectangular, British chips are thicker and cut into long, oblong-shaped pieces. British chips also have a...
