    Spells that increase hardness/hit points in objects

    Magically-treated walls are a good idea, yes, but my player and I were hoping for more options along the lines of hardening and augment object. Still, they're something to consider in the future. He's practically pissing XP at this point in the game, though, so further drains on that aren't...

    Spells that increase hardness/hit points in objects

    I was beginning to think I'd overlooked something, but apparently not. Hardening, or third party books, are really my only options. Huh. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

    Spells that increase hardness/hit points in objects

    Yeah, I could just make up a magic item, tough windows or something, but gods that seems like overkill. I was just shocked that a spell like glassteel hadn't been converted. I know there's a handful of item-strengthening spells out there, but I don't have time at the moment to dig through...

    Spells that increase hardness/hit points in objects

    So, a player of mine and I got to working on building a manor/villa/thing for his character when we realised how difficult it was to make glass windows secure in any fashion. "No problem," I say, "just use glassteel to make your windows strong as steel. Problem mostly solved." "Great idea,"...

    Jotunbrud --> Powerful Build+?

    Good ideas, both, but doesn't seem worth the feat investment in the end. Oh well, I really only pondered the whole idea on a lark.

    Jotunbrud --> Powerful Build+?

    Yeah, I was worried about that. But dropping the reach altogether doesn't seem worth a feat afterward. At what kind of penalty to-hit would you consider the reach balanced? -4? -6? Any other suggestions at all?

    Jotunbrud --> Powerful Build+?

    Don't know what to call it yet, but here we go: Prerequisites: Jotunbrud, Base Attack Bonus +3 Benefit: You can use weapons as if you were one size category larger than you really are, without penalty, and count as one size category larger when qualifying for feats that require a certain size...

    Psychic Reformation Psionic Item

    Okay, say we knock it down to 1/month, command-word activated, no item slot, and make the XP cost payable by the user (25 XP/level back the modification goes). Factor in the minimum XP cost it would cost any manifester, 25 XP, and I come up with (7*4*1800*2)/(5/[1/30]), or 6315 GP. This still...

    Psychic Reformation Psionic Item

    I was looking over the pricing guidelines for magic items while trying to determine the market price of a psionic item that would let the user manifest psychic reformation 1/day when it quickly became a mess due to the variable XP cost of that power. Does anyone have some suggestions on how to...

    Balor Chain Reaction?

    Yep. That happened to our group once. What a blast! Ahem. Anyway, if the balors in question have 100 or less hp when they get hit by another balor's blast, yeah, it'll blow them up too as long as they die from it. Yay, chain reactions.

    Persistent Spell - Abuse?

    Yeah, but everyone knows divine metamagic is broken, even with errata. In my games I houserule it to require having spell slots of the appropriate level it would take to prepare the spell without divine metamagic, even if the divine metamagic casting still requires only the lower-level slot...

    Persistent Spell - Abuse?

    Personal favorite? Hit epic levels (hey, I see you rolling your eyes! quit it. :P ) as an Incantatrix, take a few shots of Improved Spellcasting, and a shot of Improved Metamagic, and then cast yourself a Persistent Time Stop with a measly 9th-level spell slot. Mmm, nothing like infinite free...

    Mind Flayer Paragon v 1.0

    Well, hopefully by changing the wording in the class you can see that it doesn't matter if I grant psion manifesting power at the same time as I grant dominate person since one can't get both. It's one or the other. And if you want to use a variant granting sorcerer (or wizard) spellcasting...

    Mind Flayer Paragon v 1.0

    You hit my reasoning on the ability gain right on the head. Also, that's an interesting note on the half-breed paragon classes. Technically I don't think there's much stopping that. Not that it's abusive or anything, just slightly nonsensical. Nobody embraces their heritage that much! :lol:

    Mind Flayer Paragon v 1.0

    Edited some text in the original post, to make some clarifications. Figured I'd point it out here in case it wasn't obvious.

    Mind Flayer Paragon v 1.0

    No, mind flayers already posess that ability. I mean Improved Grapple. Thanks, I'll give that a shot in the future. Well, I think this is just a difference of opinion; it does say "evil genius" to me; it's really all in the roleplaying, with stats to back it up. The improved grapple is...

    Mind Flayer Paragon v 1.0

    Okay, I promised everyone a fleshed-out product, so here goes: Mind Flayer Paragon: Scheming and alien, mind flayer paragons embody the virtues held dearest by all flayerkin. While mind flayers as a whole naturally develop devastating mental strength and unnatural appetites, mind flayer...

    Help Constructing a Mind Flayer Paragon class?

    Heh, thanks. I'm a bit biased too but I think it'll work well enough. I think I'll flesh it out fluff-wise and post the whole thing in another thread sometime soon. Feel free to use what I've got here in the meantime.

    Help Constructing a Mind Flayer Paragon class?

    Whoa! I think you've got the wrong "paragon" in mind. I certainly don't want to give it that kind of power. And while this class, if used by a player, would in fact be in the level 16-18 range, keep in mind that this same class can be used by a DM wishing to advance a mind flayer for use...

    Help Constructing a Mind Flayer Paragon class?

    How's that look so far? I know I've got more ability boosts in there than is standard, but it helps keep the pace on those save DCs with standard characters or monsters and act as a boost to the mind blast ability if needed, or to psionic manifestation if that's the flayer's specialty.
