D&D 4E My Special Rules for Nine Alignments in 4E

I don't like ANY implication that chaos and evil are tied, or that law and good are tied. Chaotic Evil shouldn't exist if Chaotic Good doesn't. Robin Hood is a great example of a chaotic good hero, and any sort of evil Empire, or evil Secret Organization will have Lawful Evil elements...

    Dragonlance: Draconian Player Races

You've got a point about the breath weapon. Perhaps have each racial feat replace the breath weapon with a power unique to that type of draconian, and also give the death throes powers with the same feat. I'd make the death throes encounter powers that can be triggered any time you take damage...

    Zombie Apocalypse

I REALLY don't feel like 4e will work well for a modern campaign. You could make it work with a LOT of homebrewing, true, but I feel like it would make more sense to use a gaming framework that works with the setting you want. My personal recommendation would be Savage Worlds.

    The Dragoon (Heroic Tier)

The "Dragon Scales" feat seems like it should be deleted now that they don't get scale, although I suppose you could leave it for flavor and as an extra reward for people who choose to invest feats in grabbing scale.

D&D 4E My Special Rules for Nine Alignments in 4E

I've always been a fan of alignments as a way to guide roleplaying, but not as a mechanical aspect of the game. I like that 4e removes alignment from game mechanics, and I I like the idea of a separate alignment for "neutral" in the sense of balance between forces, and "neutral" in the sense of...

    Dragonlance: Draconian Player Races

Honestly, I think this would be better done by just creating dragonborn feats for each type of draconian's death throes, similar to how the various subspecies of elves were handled in Forgotten Realms.

    The Dragoon (Heroic Tier)

Hey Kresnik, I'd be curious to hear how your Dragoon character is doing in your campaign. I'm considering allowing it as an option in case I kill any of my PCs, which may happen within the next few gaming sessions--they've been surprisingly resilient, but they've pulled off some shenanigans...

    Ardent Epic Destiny: World Mood

Love the flavor. I can't really judge the balance, as I have no in-play experience at Epic levels. The name strikes me as boring though. Perhaps "Heart of the World"? Don't love that either. Time to go peruse thesaurus.com

Turning Monsters into Molehills er, Minions

Just use the WOTC monster builder. Select the monster you want, click "edit a copy", and change his role to "minion". Level it up or down as needed using the drop-down menus. Done.

    Game Economy

grr. sorry for the double post, the previous post didn't appear to have posted, and I had clicked a link while it was in the process of posting, so I typed it up again, thinking that it hadn't finished.

    Game Economy

While I understand the urge to make the in-game economy "make sense", I feel like it requires a pretty huge overhaul. If you revise the price-points for items, you then need to revise the amount of gold handed out per level to scale with that, and even with revised scaling I can't imagine that...

    The Three Act Goblin

I like the idea of having a "reverse mark", but I feel like that would be better handled by just being "-2 to hit the Goblin Chief until the end of his next turn" rather than requiring a full round of not whacking him. That's unfun for the players if they don't have anything else to whack. I'd...

    The Dragoon (Heroic Tier)

Very good points regarding leap. In that light, I think you made the right decision after all, and the Skysoul class feature provides an option for those who just can't wait to get into combat. I think the change in class features is definitely a step in the right direction. Both features...

    My Uonofficial Elemental Power Source

I definitely agree that the miss penalty should be changed to a critical fail penalty. Missing happens far too often, and there's really no way you can balance the negative effects. As far as the elemental weapon--I think the whole point is supposed to be that the weapon is really just flavor...

    The Dragoon (Heroic Tier)

Kupo has a good point--as written, getting into combat range in the first round probably means that you won't be able to use momentum that round. I think it might make more sense to just have Leap and boost allow you to jump a distance equal to your speed, and then up it to your speed+2 at...

How would you guys handle this?

Whenever you as DM feel it's appropriate for the arm to flare up, have him make an endurance check. Success means he manages to overcome the pain and keep silent/resist cramping/etc. Or perhaps you could write up powers that the disease has that target Will, as you suggested yourself. Also...

    Core D&D Themes

When I first heard about themes, I was kinda pissed about Dark Sun not having a new class, but now that I've had a chance to see how they work, I think it was the right decision. Now I'm super stoked about the new book of themes coming out, but it'll be a while and in the meantime I'd love to...

    The Dragoon (Heroic Tier)

I've been thinking about putting together a Dragoon class for a while now, because I wasn't happy with any of the homebrew ones I had seen so far...I no longer feel the need to waste my time making one, as yours is AWESOME. I love the momentum mechanic, it's the first implementation of...

    Unearthed Arcana: Fear and Madness

That "preform" in the sentence about aboleths is bugging me  On a more helpful note, I really like system, but I don't feel like it's quite effective as-is--you need to have something HAPPEN mechanically as the PCs slip into madness. As currently written, the Sanity Points subsystem...
