    Creative Spell Casting Stories

I don't have any but I would love to hear of creative uses for different spells. This is partially inspired by the "your favorite word for command" thread, and more specifically by Canada_K's post:

    Fantasy Websites Wanted

Once you go to a database driven site this is actually much easier. On my site (now defunct) using a database, xml, css, and xslt there is a view for pretty much anything you want. It's particulalry nice for presenting articles and such in a printer friendly format, but I also have options for...

    Deep Fried Happiness

I am at work and being fed! Executives are frying turkeys and giving them to me! And I'm on vacation all of next week! Just though I would share.

If you were designing a mage faire what would you do?

Harry Potter Ya know, that street, with all the stores and stuff on it. Some interesting personalities that could be borrowed as well.

    Night Below

More Please? Night Below has been sitting on my shelf for close to 8 years now. I've always wanted to play it, but never thought my group would stick around long enough to see it through. I will now live vicariously through you :)

    Superhero systems?

I second this question. BTW, great job on breaking that down. I don't know that it made the system all that more clear to me, but you don't definitely stepped up to the plate there. The flexibility that keeps getting mentioned has now been proven.

    Superhero systems?

Re: Re: Thanks and more please! I actually was just reading about this one. It looks like the system is back in Blood of Heroes. It looks like this reviewer has some mixed emotions about the other fluff tho.

    Superhero systems?

Thanks Synicism, that gave me a lot more information. The flexibility of the system reminds me alot of Heroe's Unlimited, although it seems Hero is even more flexible with character options. I don't really mind the Palladium combat system tho... maybe a hybrid is in order. The complexity...

    Superhero systems?

Re: Re: Thanks and more please! I'm afraid I don't have any specific questions without having read the books, as you said. I don't really want to buy those books just to find the questions that I need to ask to decide whether or not I want to buy those books... and now I just gave my self a...

    Superhero systems?

I would like to know more as well. I don't really want to turn this into a war or anything, but more input would be appreciated. What specific things do you like/dislike? Also, was there a version of Hero using the Fuzion system? I keep seeing mention of something like that, but I can't find...

    Superhero systems?

Thanks and more please! Thanks for all the advice so far! mmadsen, I checked out the thread you suggested, which unfortunately left me with more questions than answers :) I will be checking out the sites for all of the games mentioned in that thread tho, which is a good start. In my readings...

    Superhero systems?

Having recently delved into my comic collection of several years ago, read many reviews (although not yet played) of Freedom Force, and seen some of the threads around here, I've been inspired to run a supers game. I'm wondering what systems are out there and what do people like/dislike about...

    Superhero Games

Wetworks it was. I just re-read those a couple of weeks ago while managing a garage sale. Not bad stuff, although it wasn't ever my personal favorite. Spine-snapper = Shadowhawk. It would have been good, if it weren't so darn gimmicky. The had stupid contests to figure out who Shadowhawk...

    Asking the right questions

Hi, I'm the DM. I'm about 3 sessions into a new campaign and I'm already starting to get discouraged. Here's why... My group consists of 6 players, 4 of whom have roleplayed in some capacity in the past (2 quite extensively). All 6 willingly joined the group when I put out the call, there...

[OT] What can you all tell me about Rifts?

I like it Generally speaking I like Rifts quite a bit. As stated above (several times) the setting is pretty good, allowing just about any type of game you want. I've never really had a problem with the rules. As far as I am concerned opposing dice rolls for combat are a hell of a lot better...

Would you pay for cool features?

um... hmm... Not a bad idea. I would have trouble convincing myself to spend my gaming budget on it vs a new book however. Alternate fund raising? What about a raffle? Perhaps offering something like an autographed book (Mr. Gygax?) You could think even bigger if enough people are...

    A CON of 5!

Hmm... ya know, I hadn't thought of that. Still, curing diseases proposes other difficulties. Even supposing a temple cures diseases for free, you still have to get to that temple. A cleric in the party would have to use a spell slot, or if they regularly have Cure Disease anyway, what if...

    A CON of 5!

I give my players the option of fudging their stat scores at creation if they are really low. While not allowing them to get outrageous, the character should be enjoyable to play. One of my players created a half-elf rogue. One of his rolls was a 5, which initially he changed, but after...

    Music to "role" by

No matter how many times I see posts like this, I'm always surprised that nobody mentions Danny Elfman. It's by and large music from movies, but some of the best and most memorable that I've ever heard. Most would know him from the opening theme of the Simpsons, which believe it or not, is...
