+1 Distance Weapon- how is that balanced?

So, a +1 Distance Handaxe costs exactly the same as a +1 Handaxe. Both grant a +1 to attack and damage rolls, and 1d6 extra damage on a crit. Except one has double the range.

And yet, once again, they cost exactly the same. Can someone enlighten me as to why this is allowed?

According to the Adventurer's Vault, distance weapons deal no extra damage dice on a crit. Ditto dynamic and grasping weapons. Sacrificial weapons are slightly above the curve.

Yep. Never overlook the "Critical:" line in the item description. It makes a big difference, which only gets bigger as you get to higher levels.
