I seem to recall a rule stating that you cannot have the same special ability twice (or more) on one weapon, but cannot find it. Does anyone have a page reference?

like abilities dont stack?

so it could be flaming flaming but it would only do an extra +1d6. however, if one flaming ability got dispelled the other would still be active (sort of like the 2 bull's strength example).

You can't stack like powers but you can take the flame burst power from the Epic book it does3d6 and various mulipliers on crits it is much more pricy at +6 so the total + of the flame burst great sword would be +7

I let them stack, just because there is also the possibility to have a shocking flaming sword that does an extra 2d6 damage (electricity and fire), so from a balance point of view there's nothing against it.
Someone somewhere (in another thread some time ago) pointed out that it wouldn't make sense to have "hotter" flames but I think it's the same like a fireball cast by a 5-th and a 10-th level mage.

Or you can combine flaming and flaming burst for 2D6 fire damage and +1D10 on critical hit for marcet price of +3.
I'm not sure whether that's possible...
