$100 PDF!! Are they nuts!!??

Then they should have arranged another way to make the download. This is a sloppy way of handling it. Or they could have charged the same amount as the hardcover, and given it away 'free' with the PDF purchase... :p

WEll, they have been upfront about it. They needed a way to get it to downloaded from their fans, they didn't have servers that could do it. Drivethrough does but needed a price on it. THe PDF is for sale there are a more resonible price. THis way worked quite well for them and aside from a few people here and on RPGNet, most people find no fault with it.

Meh, maybe I'll reconsider, if I ever see it in a store. This is actually an easy decision to make when there is no local place to buy games other than Borders and Waldenbooks... But the method still annoys me. It is just so... sloppy.

Mind you, I mellowed a bit on this when I went to their web site a few minutes ago and saw the difficulties that they are apparently having with their servers... back online August 9th my left foot! They really cannot host the download right now.

No, you are suipposed to realize it isn't for sale. It is meant for a way that they can give a PDF to all the people that ordered the book. THey had to put a price on it though, so Mark figured 100 bucks and no one would buy it, becasue he's not looking for people to buy that version since it is meant for a bonus for the customers that bought the special edition.

Unfortunately, in the grand scheme of thing, what they've instead done is set up a surefire way to scare away potential first time PDF shoppers. The stuff selling at cover price in the $35 range is bad enough, but there will be people who see that $100 price and decide to just stick with buying paper.

$100 is just insane for a PDF.

I think it's a cunning plan so that people won't complain about the real 24.99 price!

Why, compared to the $100 that no one is supposed to pay for the pdf, that real price of $24.99 looks like a steal!

:D

/M

(hey, it's a joke, btw :p. Hence the smilies :D )

Is that because they will not see the hundreds of other PDF's with a much lower price tag or ?

OK, I get it, it's a fake price. But could someone please explain to me HOW COME IT'S THIRD PLACE IN DRIVETHRU'S HOTTEST ITEMS LIST?!!

Either they are counting "discount" sales and having lots of them, or someone is making a huge unexpected profit

Probably becasue everyone who pre-orders the Deluxe edition gets a free download of the PDF, so it's being downloaded quite a bit right now.

It could be selling. What would be wrong with people buying a product that they want and GoO who had a tough last year, making extra money?
