It's a twice-annually (Spring and Fall) event, sponsored in the past by the Terrapin gaming club and some ENworlders. There's morning (9-2 or so) and afternoon (3-8) sessions. Usuallly 8-10 different games going on. Sometimes games are two-parters taking both sessions, but more often you'd sign up for different games. Pretty much anything goes -- we've had D&D, Grim Tales, HARP, Shadowrun, Traveller, Mutants & Masterminds, you name it. Sign-ups for games will go up in September sometime, most likely. Keep an eye on the thread if you want to play and/or DM. Admission is free!

What's a "Game Day"? I live in Baltimore and I wouldn't mind attending and even running something if my schedule allows. Is this a College Park thing, gaming club based? Is there a link?

Think of it as a mini-convention. Basically, a bunch of folks getting together to play games with people that they normally do not get to game with.

Once Xath and her gaming club have the room booked, she will post a thread looking for folks to volunteer to GM games (of the volunteer's choice). There are two sessions, one morning and one afternoon.

Once all the tables have been filled with GM's, another thread will be started and folks can then sign up in advance for specific games.

Then on the day of the GameDay, you show up, and play!

Don't forget the chickens - for sacrificing. And the goat. We need the goat for "the act".

Anyone interested in a game of round-robin GM'ing? It was much fun at the NC game day.

I could probably be convinced, as my schedule won't allow me to join you for RRGM at GenCon. You guys looked and sounded like you were having a great time at the NCGD.

once a date is set, and if I can find someone generous enough to offer me a couch for a couple nights, I'd love to run some paranoia

I'm also thinking of running a paranoia game. Crothian, were you planning a 1e, 2e, (the non-existant un-fun un-product treasonous) 5e, or XP? I was thinking of running XP... and if you were doing a pre-XP edition, you could have yours in the morning, mine in the afternoon...

The other game I'm thinking of running is a D&D Grim and Gritty game, to show people what it's like.

Well, don't count on me yet. Coming in from Ohio I need to arrange a little more then just a day to goto this. If I am able to go, it'll be XP as that's the only ruleset I currently have.

We have a new club president this year. He said that we'll be able to reserve a room as soon as he gets back to campus. So at latest, I'm hoping we'll know by the end of August.

Bumporama...

Since I have less patience than my 2.65-year old...I thought I would bump up both MD-DC-VA Game Day threads and see what's shakin'...

Xath, how was Gen Con?
