I'm surprised at the relative dearth of D&D games.

I'm not really surprised, and actually a little pleased for my own selfish reasons. I can play D&D when I want, but for a 'system junkie' like myself, I really look forward to getting to try out different things at these gamedays. I'd have never considered buying Mutants and Masterminds, for example, but had a blast playing it at the last gameday. Same with your Traveller game the time-before-last.

Would anyone be interested in a 'Serenity' session in the third-time slot? The book should be in my grubby little mitts this week, and I was thinking that the movie might put people in the mood.

Heck yeah! My FLGS had several copies yesterday, so it is definetly out.

But it would be nice to have a little more variety. Which incidentally seemed to be there for the last two game days. It seems like the date and the sign-up process might have hampered the effort.

Maybe next time we could plan it more cooperatively and get the benefit of both communities, the Terraping Gaming Club and ENWorld. Then again we might see a surge of new games popping up before this actually occurs, so let's keep promoting it.

Don't get me wrong. The fact that TerpCon is even happening is a great thing. Next time the bumps on the road will probably be lessened by the lessons learned here.

I'll address a couple points that have been brought up here:

1) Playtesting. For the game I ran last time, I pseudo-playtested it with a similar scenario, but it wasn't as effective as I had hoped. This time I'd really like to, simply so that my first ever time running SR4 isn't at the Game Day, but I doubt I'll have that opportunity.

2) Games. It seems to me that we actually have not a dearth of games, but a dearth of players. Looking at the schedule as it stands now (granted it's still early, but I thought that last time round, too) there's a lot of empty player slots and just a few full games. Last time, there were several games that didn't get played, due to lack of interest. I'm not sure what the issue is, but it wouldn't surprise me to see several of those games currently up get cancelled due to lack of interest.

3) Rodrigo, if I stick around for the 3rd session, count me in on the Serenity goodness! :)

Speaking of which, in regards to your spycraft 2.0 game, are you supplying pre-generated characters?

Yes. I wasn't assuming everyone would have a book.

I will have "default" gear picks; if we have enough time and books, you can do your own gear picks. I am not going to try to go through gear picks for everyone with only one or two books.

I like to try new things out. But you see, as I always RUN (and when I don't run, the available flavors are nWoD or SWd20), PLAYING D&D would be a new thing. :)

Danke. I'm glad you had fun!

I'm the perennial DM, too, so getting to play at Gameday is a real treat for me. Wish you were running the Spycraft game in the third session -- I've been itching to try that one, too.

Just to let Andrew know, I will (as I have done before), be bringing my roll of tickets and a few products to be use as give-aways like we have done in the past. I will definitely be bringing some HARP stuff, and perhaps even a few copies of Cyradon (which should be back from the printers by then), plus a small smattering of other things as well.

Anybody else going to supply prizes?
