D&D 1E 1E Fiend Folio monsters in 4E Monster Manual!

If 4th edition does not have the tirapheg and sheet phantom, then my sense of wonder is officially murdered.

I do not remember the tirapheg, at all. This makes me sad.

What about the weird carnivous treestump monster with fake bunny?

I sure hope the Hook Horror is in there. That's more iconic for me than many D&D monsters.

But yes, I anticipated this, because I think it was Mearls who, during the Monster podcast, kept mentioning picking up the 1e FF and flipping through, seeing all the unique monster ability designs.

They've mentioned the Dark Ones (the collective name for both Dark Creepers and Dark Stalkers) a few times in the previews and World & Monsters, so it's likely they'll be in the MM.

I would love to see the Algoid – favourite encounter as a player was against one of these bad-boys back in the day (1987).

Algoid was a pretty fun monster. I've been on the DMing side of it as well as on the player side of it. I even used it in one of my 3.x games from the Tome of Horrors (though changed/tweaked just a bit)...still worked well tho, just as I remembered it.

Right on, I never checked out Tome of Horrors, but I've heard good things about it. Well, if the Algoid isn't in, that will be one of my first 4th Ed conversions.

At this point in time there's no stopping him or any of his kind, Baker, Wyatt even the dreaded Rouse, they've all gotten to strong, have to much power.
The only real way to stop them is to destroy their source.

I say nuke em from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
