Here is a basic run down of my 4.0 play sessions so far.
The PCs:
Human Fighter (Unarmed)
Dragonborn Warlord (Chr)
Eldrin Wizard (Controller)
Human Wizard (Striker)
Tiefling Paliden (Undead affinity)
Adult White Dragon
Paliden's opens with dayly power causing it to chase it's tail
for a few rounds while the Wizards strike from the back and
the other enter melee combat. Eventally, the Dragon regains
it's composure and get's off multiple breath weapons in
succession. Various healing from the Paliden, Fighter and
Warlord prevents anyone from going unconsious. Dragon slayed.
Giant's Fortress
Good rolls allow them to sneak in and get the treasure, but
bad rolls coming out attract attention. The Giants are fought
in a small area and judicious use of status effects allows
them to be brought down.
Ferral Humans
(2 Berserkers, 2 Wizards, 4 Minions)
One of the bersekers and the fighter become locked in combat.
The minions are taken out by the Dragonborn and the Eldrin Wizard.
The Ferral Wizards (Described as shamans) get some good attacks
in but feel somewhat worthless after their 2 area spells are used
and 1 get's taked out though ranged magic and the other by the
human wizard and warlord flanking him. The fighter eventally disarms
the berserker but the berserker knocks the fighter unconsious but
the Warlord brings him back up at which point the fighter takes
a round to heal and engages the beserker finally bloodying him,
while the Paliden and Eldrin Wizard finally blood the other berserker
causing both of the bersekers to surrender. The Dragonborn intimidates
them so that they run off.
Research in Town
Looking for an item in town (that would cause a panic if
the town knew what they were looking for) got 6 success and
4 failures which caused the chacters to try to not look
suspecious causing the Fighter, Human Wizard and the Warlock
to be taken out of the skill challenge, which the Eldrin Wizard
and Paliden finish up 10/7 Which creates many rumors but not
outright panic yet.They intimidate and bluff their way into
the secret basement of the church of Palor.
Grell and Eleet Fire Traps
The Grell contiously grapples the fighter and occousally
gets tenticle attacks on the party while they get hit
bu the fire traps. The firetraps are disabled by the
Paladen and Human Wizard while the rest of the part finishes
off the Grell.
Anagram Challenge
Skill challenge where the players get a clue and a correct
letter for each 2 passed skill checks and a wrong one for
each failure. They are encouraged to chose easier intelligence
based skills but choose strange catagories causing them to go
10 and 10 giving them the 5 correct letters and 10 incorrect
letters. The puzzle is eventally solved though.
Spinning Top Trap x4
Damage is delt back and forth the tops are eventally
destroyed.
All in all this represents about 7 hours of playing (and also
7 encounters oddly enough)
