2002 - Year of the Drow. So what should 2003 be?

I like the idea of the year of the awakened cricket!

Everyone does know that the Year of the Drow is based on the current FR Year of the risen elf kin? And that the FR Campaign time is running at 1 FR year for 2 real years?

I don't recall the FR Campaign timeline being 1 game year for every two real life years? I though it was something along the lines of 5 months in our world = 2 month in FR. However, I may be mistaken, so can you please tell me where you got this one for two ratio?

Additionally, where have you seen any product list that it is currently the Year or Risen Elf Kin? The latest date I've ever seen put forth in any product is 11 Alturiak, 1373 DR in the last Sembia novel. Which novel or game product has moved the time line ahead to 1375 for the Year of Risen Elfkin?

Year of the Commoner and Cat. Their struggle will be epic. Their mighty battle will destroy wide swaths of grass. Don't get in their way. The blood will flow. Rooowwwrr!

I think this is stated in the FR Campaign book

THE WoTC FR web site says it is the year of the drow, also again it is stated what year it is in the FRC Campaign book. I don't have the book in front of me so, will edit this post when I do.

The year of revision
The year of baffled mage
The year of the rejoicing ranger
The year of Dwarven world domination

Some suggestions.

You are correct that Advancing the Years is addressed in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (FRCS). At the bottom of page 260, there is the following information:

From this point forward, we expect to advance the timeline of the world about two years per five years of game products and novels. In other words, for every five months that pass in the real world, we'll advance Faerun by two months.

Is there some other place within this or another book where they contradict this information?

Yes, it is Year of the Drow in WOTC's happy little promo world. Of course, Year of the Drow is going to go on and on like the energizer bunny as long as the masses eagerly await the next DAHBOR (Drizzt and his band of reknown) book.

However, when it comes to the year listed within the campaign book, it's Midsummer 1372. Additionally, as I've stated, the latest date I've ever heard of in recent FR products is the date given in the last Sembia novel, 11 Alturiak, 1373 DR. Thus, again, where have you obtained any information that the timeline has moved forward to 1375?

If you are eager to get to the Year of Risen Elfkin, you might take a look at the first few pages of Richard Baker's new novel, Condemnation. A future novel series is mentioned and by the titles it certainly appears as if it might have something to do with the Year of Risen Elfkin.
