Gamerman 12 stated:
I think this is stated in the FR Campaign book
You are correct that Advancing the Years is addressed in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (FRCS). At the bottom of page 260, there is the following information:
From this point forward, we expect to advance the timeline of the world about two years per five years of game products and novels. In other words, for every five months that pass in the real world, we'll advance Faerun by two months.
Is there some other place within this or another book where they contradict this information?
THE WoTC FR web site says it is the year of the drow, also again it is stated what year it is in the FRC Campaign book
Yes, it is Year of the Drow in WOTC's happy little promo world. Of course, Year of the Drow is going to go on and on like the energizer bunny as long as the masses eagerly await the next DAHBOR (Drizzt and his band of reknown) book.
However, when it comes to the year listed within the campaign book, it's Midsummer 1372. Additionally, as I've stated, the latest date I've ever heard of in recent FR products is the date given in the last Sembia novel, 11 Alturiak, 1373 DR. Thus, again, where have you obtained any information that the timeline has moved forward to 1375?
If you are eager to get to the Year of Risen Elfkin, you might take a look at the first few pages of Richard Baker's new novel, Condemnation. A future novel series is mentioned and by the titles it certainly appears as if it might have something to do with the Year of Risen Elfkin.
