Who don't the actors thank? Did any thank the general public for watching their movies?

The only one I recall mentioning fans from the major awards was I believe Peter Jackson at the end of his Best Director acceptance speech. I know he mentioned the fans one of the three times he was up there.

Also, I recall that Johnny Depp when nominated released a statement thanking the fans, "kiddies and adults alike" who responded to his movie.

As for the others...

I think he's a-scared... :D
For this movie-related thread, a quotation from a movie seems appropriate:

"Be afraid. Be very afraid."

:D

I am not pushy when it comes to winning prizes. All good things come to those who wait, and all that. So, what do I have to do to collect this prize? Dance the hootchie-gootchie at GenCon after acting out all the prestige classes from The Book of Erotic Whatever-the-hell-its-called with Anthony Valterra?

The acceptance speech is almost ready. It is seven pages long, but I'm just going to post the five page version. Then, next fall, I'll release the extended version which will include not only the full seven pages, but also several behind-the-scenes interviews, a completely re-worked musical score, and a second speech filled with several extras which will extend the entire reading pleasure to 27 pages! And it'll come in a nifty gift set, with a resin statue of me in my "rat bastardy merchant" pose.

Well, I guess we'll have to have a look at the speech, first! :p
No, you only get the speech after I get the prize.l :p

Movie related quotation of the year: I just got back from a talk by John Waters. At the beginning of his presentation, he asked: "Why didn't Charlize Theron thank Aileen Wournos when she won the Oscar?" That man just cracks me up.
