2024 D&D Character Sheets Available to Download

The newly designed character sheets for Dungeons & Dragons are now available on D&D Beyond's website. The new sheets were created for use with the new 2024 revised 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons and were released as part of the early release launch of the 2024 Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond. Notably, the new character sheets are condensed from 3 pages to 2, contain attunement slots for magic items, and place various skill proficiency stats under their corresponding core ability score. Also, the new character sheet contains various technical updates, such as "Heroic Inspiration" replacing inspiration and "Species" replacing "Races." Please note that this is not a fillable PDF, so you'll have to print it and fill it out on your own.

This marks the first time since 2014 that D&D has updated its official character sheets, with print copies eventually going on sale in a couple of weeks. Also to come are several campaign tracker sheets that will be available as part of the to-be-released Dungeon Master's Guide.

Ezo, I am very new to D&D. I have played a few 5e one-shots, but recently started a 5e 2024 campaign. I am very picky about format and how the character sheet should be laid out. Your sheets are exceptional, and I appreciate the variety of choices you provided (ie. shrinking, scrolling, various spell boxes and/or pages, etc.). Thank you so much!

While I absolutely love the format, I was discouraged that not all the boxes that I filled out are printing. This includes the Combat Features & Defenses, Feats, Appearance, Valuables & Treasure, Backstory & Personality, Notes, and the very last box on the standard form (not named). I was looking forward to using my new form for a campaign I just started, but I will not be able to use this form.

Might you happen to know why it is not printing? I have done some research and found answers like "Print as Image" or "Print to pdf" but none of these have worked for me. Do you have any advice or recommendations? Is this a problem with my file, the program, the user (I will not be offended), or something else? Please advise. Thank you so much for your time.
First, welcome to the forums! :)

I'm glad you like the sheets. I'm lucky I still have this thread watched or I wouldn't have known about your post most likely.

Also, here if you want to target a post to someone, use the @ symbol before their name, "@ezo".

As for printing, I really couldn't say. I don't use these and haven't tried printing them even. Perhaps someone else following the thread could comment?

@ezo, good thing I have the Lucky origin feat so you could see my post! While I don't know what is causing the issue (of printing some fillable boxes as empty), I have found a simple workaround. I used an online PDF to JPG converter (for which I often utilize iLovePDF | Online PDF tools for PDF lovers) and printed it that way. The quality is slightly downgraded, and it is a bit more cumbersome (albeit hardly), but it was the only think I could think of.

You have a lot of cool features with your character sheets, including (but not limited to):
  • shrinkable text (for "old school" players like me who want a printed paper in front of me)
  • circle/diamond "buttons" that actually fill in (instead of dinky unaligned checks)
  • coherent organization methods (which I wish WotC used in their character sheet)
  • centered form boxes (a necessity for perfectionists like me)
  • keeps the skills together (although I begrudgingly understand why WotC revamped it)
  • organize the armor and weapon proficiencies more concisely (without wasted space)
  • had two columns for the equipment (which looks neat and saves more space)
  • provided multiple variations of the files (which I am repeating because it is worth it)

While the character I am using for my first official campaign is not a magic user, I am sure there are additional benefits of using your sheet as opposed to others. Thank you so much for helping the D&D community by not only creating these files, but providing feedback and responding to the numerous comments before mine. You rock!

@Avid Learner you're very welcome. I know a lot of people have been using them (or said they would LOL) and I'm glad I was able to make something people can use. Enjoy. Hopefully the printing issue will work itself out or someone will chime in to help you. Sorry I couldn't do more.
