You can download free copies of the new D&D character sheets starting today.

The newly designed character sheets for Dungeons & Dragons are now available on D&D Beyond's website. The new sheets were created for use with the new 2024 revised 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons and were released as part of the early release launch of the 2024 Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond. Notably, the new character sheets are condensed from 3 pages to 2, contain attunement slots for magic items, and place various skill proficiency stats under their corresponding core ability score. Also, the new character sheet contains various technical updates, such as "Heroic Inspiration" replacing inspiration and "Species" replacing "Races." Please note that this is not a fillable PDF, so you'll have to print it and fill it out on your own.

This marks the first time since 2014 that D&D has updated its official character sheets, with print copies eventually going on sale in a couple of weeks. Also to come are several campaign tracker sheets that will be available as part of the to-be-released Dungeon Master's Guide.

Thanks to @ezo for this great edit
I've made the PDF fillable, let me know if it works
Hey, thanks !

I tried it out, and it all seems to work.

The only thing that I would like to mention (but I don't know if it will be a lot of work to change or not), is that in some of the fillable boxes on the first page - if you fill in more letters/numbers than would fit in the space - the text overflows outside of the box (and becomes invisible). If I contrast that with the fillable boxes on the second page, there the font size will get increasingly smaller as you type more text in the box. Of course, that quickly becomes unreadable as well as the font gets too small to read, but I think I like the approach on the second page where the font gets smaller better.

As far as I can see now, this particularly shows / becomes apparent on the first page in the following boxes :

- box with character name, background, etc.

- box where you fill in your XP

- 'size' box

- the boxes beneath 'weapons & damage cantrips'

Again, I have no idea if it will be a lot of work to change those boxes to 'font gets smaller when you fill in more in the box', and it's really the only thing that stands out to me.

Anyway, regardless I would like to thank you for making this one form fillable as well.

I have a question for people who have started playing with the 2024 character sheets: Do you like the new layout of the spells on the back side (one long list instead of broken out by spell level)? Is it harder to locate a specific spell at higher level when they're all lumped together?

This has been my biggest concern when looking over the new 2024 sheet, but I'd like to hear from people with actual game-play experience.

My wife hates the spell organization of the new sheet - she's been using the old sheet for spells for the test character she made.

Apparently, she's also EXTREMELY unhappy that "Player Name" doesn't have a spot on the sheet. Also, photocopying, rather than printing from the original, comes out poorly - the lines in various sections are so faint they disappear.

As for me, I don't like the skill breakout.

Yeah, I noticed that too when I was converting my daughter's and her friends' characters to the new sheets. I just wrote it on the right end of the Character Name line (just above where Class goes).

Another thing I just noticed is that the spell list doesn't have a "prepared" circle like the old sheet did. So a Wizard, who knows a lot of spells but can only prepare a certain amount each long rest, has to make some kind of improvised mark to indicate which ones are prepared. In fact, I would recommend that people playing a Wizard just use a separate sheet of paper for keeping track of spells.
