Do you think a low level bow should allow double attacks for the thief? Most debatably - but let's not repeat that debate.
The thief doesn't have much else going for it as a subclass, so yes, I think these are exactly the kinds of shenanigans it's intended for.Do you think a low level bow should allow double attacks for the thief?
I don't think so. Does not seem like a great idea. But whatever floats your boat.
You can certainly use (or not use) whatever rules you likeI figured. Personally, I figure that any sort of supplemental rules like that are on shaky ground, and the older the shakier. So maybe you'll allow it in your campaigns, but I wouldn't take it as a given for anyone else.
Ok. What I said. Whatever floats your boat. The thief doesn't have much else going for it as a subclass, so yes, I think these are exactly the kinds of shenanigans it's intended for.
Sorry, I was unclear. I expect that due to backwards compatibility being uneven, more tables will whitelist specifically allowed pre-Revision 5e material rather than blacklisting things they specifically disallow, and that the age of the material will factor into if it's allowed or not. So that Xanathar's, being one of the earliest 2014 5e supplements, will have a higher volume of things that don't mesh well with Revised 5e.I am a little curious about why you consider Xanathar's rules to be "shaky?" What do you mean?
It requires Arcana skill. I think this is a dumb restriction.5) Rules for crafting Magic Items: Tool proficiency is more useful now for crafting. Takes X days of 8 hours per day to craft an item based on rarity, and time can be cut in half if two people work on it at the same time. Can contribute to the 8 hours during short rests. Material cost and locating materials also covered. Work days do not need to be consecutive.
