Bards can now give inspiration using visual cues only (you don't need verbal). So now I can give someone "the Venkman", and they will be truly inspired. Noice!

Bards no longer have access to paladin, rangers, warlock, and ranger spells list.

NO SWIFT QUIVER FOR YOU!

Haste was the better spell anyway.

On a different note: I really love the college of glamour now.

Mirror image has always been one of my favourite protective spells.

They could keep some of those for other subclasses!

If they added swift quiver to the Druid spell list, then you might have it. Alternatively, yeah, this might create space for a bow-bard subclass in the future a la 4E's College of Prescience.

Still sad about Song of Rest as I liked the healing built on short rests, and would have liked it to be Restful Performance or something and not rely on magical music for the dancers and other artists. Does anyone know if Bardic Inspiration gets to be used to perform healing still as it did in the UA? I liked having some forms of healing without spending spells known on healing spells.

Assuming Spells Know remains the same.

You have 12 at level 9.
And can swap 1 each level.
= minimum of 2 bard spells at level 20.

Some new epic boons:

• Boon of Spell Recall: Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1 to a maximum of 30, and whenever you cast a spell with a level 1-4 spell slot, roll a d4 and if the roll matches the spell level you don’t expend the spell slot.

--mechanically ok, though I still hate the language. Why can't it be a simple "roll a 4, get your spell back". Match the result to the level is just silly.

But we also recommend the Boon of Skill, which grants you proficiencies in all skills and gives you yet another Expertise
--for the skills monkeys, this is a damn cool feat, even if its not super mechanically strong, there will definately be people that would love this power.

, or the Boon of Speed, which lets you Disengage as a Bonus Action and adds 30 feet to your Speed.

I can run 3 bards at level 20? That's the best capstone in the game!

Its possible bards will now have prayer of healing, which granted an extra short rest in 2024, so that would be a worthy substitute

If bards still prepare spells as they have, its a wonderful benefit, but still somewhat limited in scope.

If they now have clerical like spell prepared....they just DESTROYED wizard in terms of spell versatility, like so utterly the wizard is smote upon the mountainscape, so I can't imagine they went that route.

I think it's pretty clear that per the language in the article, "If there’s a feature we don’t cover, such as Jack of All Trades, that means it remains unchanged or saw minor changes", Bards still are Spells Known casters, unlike Rangers who specifically became Prepare-from-Spell-List casters.
