I mean, you're not a really cool gamer unless you make it clear how much you are bored by dark elves. How Drizzt-clones make you yawn.
On the other hand, making a cool sourcebook on Fey would be difficult at best, and probably not a hot seller. (course, done right it could be truly sublime!)

Still, the largest Eilistraeean surface communities number only in the dozens.Kae'Yoss said:And especially Vhaeraun and Eilistraee have some larger communities on the surface. The non-Spiderkisser-Drow are surely fare more numerous than Lolth's propaganda suggests.
Well, at least I'll enjoy the break from the constant rain! (I live in Portland, Oregon, Northwest USA.)Kae'Yoss said:We can forget the 4e rumors. It won't happen. Because the world is coming to an end!
Why? I tell you: By chance, I read a part of Felon's post that someone quoted. It's him telling people to stop stereotyping and bashing people for stupid reasons. And I agree with him I and Felon agree on a topic. If you wonder why it's so bright outside, that will be the rain of fire, and the knocking on your door will be the dead raising from their graves - after a nap this long, they really need to use your bathroom!
Did you notice the two scimitars? They were real. The costume party required "literary characters." It was half done in jest, and everyone got a kick out of it. Hopefully the terrorists won't find the pic.Oh good that is awful. Don't let that fall into the hands of any RPG haters, it's like handing nukes to terrorists and then telling them that they're wusses who would never use them.
Bashing is bad, I agree. It occurs in just about every society, not just gamers. Drizzt is popular, so there will be plenty of "me, too" type gamers who want to play a similar character. Most gamers want to create their own characters, I believe. We can all co-exist together. <group hug>Not just drow-bashing. As I said already, bashing anything seems to be very popular, and some people will go to great lengths to find something to bash. It's what I hate most about the roleplaying community.
Me, too. Goodman Games' Complete GT Fey looks interesting. There isn't currently a review of it here, but the ToC on Goodman's site seems to indicate some Fey politics, including a Court of Dreams, a Court of Nightmares, and a Court of Twilight. I want Seelie and Unseelie courts, politics, and story hooks for potential involvement of PC's. Does anything currently available have that?I think it might still come. And I think it might be good. I sure want a "Courts of the Fairies" book in the monstrous series.

Kae'Yoss said:Yeah, that man is awful. I really hate how he brought so many people to D&D.![]()
GeoFFields said:Awful doesn't describe it. I think he's a great novelist.
It's a shame you hate the fact he brought so many people to D&D.
The fact he is a great writer and brought many new people to the hobby doesn't change the fact he ruined drow IMO. Until his novels and TSR / WotC jumping and the fandom of Drizzt, drow were great adversaries and always caused the players to step back when encountered. Nowadays, it's more lke: Hey! Drow! Let's kill them and take their trinkets!!

Of course the fading of drow enchantment in sunlight did slow things down, but not if the MU had a permanency/wish or two ready on a scroll.
Therefore I look forward to the new book and new kewl stuff we can liberate from the hapless Drow.
Thanks,
Rich
