I hope Michelle gets out of it, her peformance in last night's episode brought whole new depths to the character.

I agree, Michelle rocked last night. Who knew she was that cool? I'd love to see her and Jack take out some bad guys together.

Oh, and the preview at the end of the show raised a question for me... why the sam hill aren't there going to be any new episodes until March 30?! That's over a month away! :(

So they can have uninterrupted new episodes from then on into the May sweeps period.

While I'm sure that's part of it, I would bet a larger part is so they can show more of American Idol. 24's gonna be all sorts of moved around once that show gets to the final 12 contestants.

Yeah, that's probably it. IIRC, they did something similar last season.

One thing that I admire about "24" is that they don't leave every episode in a cliffhanger, giving some sort of resolution to each episode's drama. The cliffhanger ending would have been with Guille trying to deactivate the bomb when the episode ended, rather than it actually going off. Still, I doubt that there was anyone watching last night who won't tune in again in five weeks, so that did make for a good point to break.

One question, as I forget what hour this day started with. What hour of the 24 are we now at?

Who knows why this place. Probably because it would be the most dramatic.

Unfortunately, more than likely everyone will be infected, even if they shut the fan off now. There will still be enough air movement through vents and such to spread the virus particles throughout the hotel. After all, even if Gaille calls as soon as we cut out, it'll still take some time for the fans to be shut down and then stop spinning (since it wouldn't be instantaneous). Right now it's entirely possible, if not probable, that everyone in the hotel will be infected.

At least, that's the stance CTU (and any emergency response team) will take.
I thought the same. I thought it was already a high risk to go into the building at all, because they weren`t sure the virus wasn`t already in the whole building. Still I think a shut-off of the system might have been a good idea - but maybe the system isn`t so easy to shut down - there is, after all, a reason why the buidling needs it)

Possibilities (no spoilers, only assumptions):
Considering the fact that Michelle and Almeda haven`t had the time to work their recent differences out, it might be a good "shock"-effect if Michelle (and the rest of the team in the building) would also die from the virus, but I am not sure if it would be contagious enough to allow them.

Regarding Chase:
I am not sure he will die this season. He has proven much more resistant and resourceful than most characters, so he might also be a replacement for Jack, in the long run, (= next season), if Kiefer Sutherland and the authors decide they need a real shock and kill of Jack! (Unfortunately, I don`t hink that the actor of Chase has the same presence as Sutherland)
Though it might also be used to make his death a bit harder for us viewers.

If they kill off Jack, I don't think I'll keep watching 24 after this season. Chase wouldn't be nearly as cool of a main character as Jack is.
