Yeah, but the other question is what happened to the stealth fighter? Yes you had a downed Air Force One to deal with and the missing football. But I'd have thought that at least somebody would have still been concerned about the plane.

I believe they mentioned briefly that the plane has been shot down.

Part of the reason why they (more or less plausibly) didn´t send more people to retrieve the football might be that their forces are already spreaded thin.
Most forces, (including those from CTU) are already working somewhere. Jack and his assistent (to avoid the word "redshirt") where the only ones to make it in the given time frame. Maybe more were on the route, but they weren´t there, yet.

What would make you more nervous: being a yeoman beamed down to a planet with Captain Kirk or part of a team that is sent into the field with Jack Bauer. It seems like CTU agents w/Jack are being knocked off at an alarming rate.

I agree that something seems fishy about Novack (the VP's aide). He probably masterminded the whole thing to get the VP to become President.

yeah, some of the situations Jack is getting himself into seem to be really contrived this season. Still, the show is intense as hell.... watching Jack sneak around that station with 5 or 6 bad guys running around was nailbiting... even if you knew he was going to get through it at the end...

Did you miss that whole steal a stealth fighter, find Airforce One and shoot it down part?

Heh. No, actually. I pointed out in last week's thread that this would be a pretty stupid plan, considering the fact that F-117A Stealth fighters aren't armed with air-to-air weapons. They carry laser-guided bombs and air-to-surface missiles usually, which are worthless for shooting down planes.
