Yet another slow episode with Jack doing relatively nothing. This episode's inclusion of an Brady (autistic character) felt as if it were only ment to humanize Jack before he goes on the warpath next week.

I seriously hope they don't drag out the Day 2 white-house plot rehash past midnight, because beyond the VP being a power hungry warmonger the white house plot like many of this days other sub-plots, is running out of steam.

I think the show needed a series of episodes to build up the other characters. I've liked the last two shows because of it. Early in the season, this show was close to losing me as it became the Jack show.

Now, I"m not too sure if i can hold my believablity for next episode. I"ve had problems with the pacing of this season from episode 3 and if President Palmer 2.0 is up and walking about, arguing right after major surgery and a coma... i mean geesh.

I still think they are setting things up for Jack to be killed (Keiffer Sutherland has reportedly proposed this before, but it was never permitted) and Ricky Schroeder to take over.

Each season Jack has been beat up, even has had his heart stopped more than once and kept right on going almost as if nothing happened. This season Morris was beaten with a baseball bat and had a drill used on his shoulder blade, but he pretty much went right back to work with nothing more than some nasty looking bruises and a sling for his arm (has the sling vanished? I think it has). Many of the characters on this show have what I call Fast Healing 24.

So that *is* Ricky Schroeder? I saw him, and kept thinking that he looked like the guy from Silver Spoons. Man, he hasn't aged well at all...

True, but this season looks as if its taking its toll on Jack both physically and mentally. I've been noticing that Jack has spent more time sitting down (when not driving) or leaning against objects more then he has in previous seasons.

Well, according do IMDB, he's gonna be 37 in a couple of weeks (April 13, 1970). He does look pretty old for his age, I would have guessed 43 or 44 minimum. I never saw him during his run on NYPD Blue, but that lasted for 64 episodes, so he's been around.

Interesting idea if he takes over for Jack Baur. It looks like they are setting him up, for sure, but really how many more crisis' can the series writers crank out? They've already worn out all the cliche terrorist plots.

Don't get me wrong, I watch it each week, but it gets more outrageous every season.

Well, he has been through alot, and even for something like 24, I guess there is only so much adrenaline can do for you.

Well, removing Jack and adding Ricky can allow for some new drama based upon past deeds, something they seemed to have used up with Jack. As for new plots to prevent, I would actually prefer if they dialed it back a little from the "mass casualty attack of the month" to something closer to season 1 with the assassination plot against Senator Palmer.

Maybe a plot designed to destabilize the stock market, or against researchers working on an energy source that would free the industrialized nations from oil-dependance (and have it be South American or Nigerian attackers protecting their nation's or corporation's oil-based economy, rather than the assumed and overused middle east).

I'm not even watching the show this season (my local cable company got into an argument with paying rights to rebroadcast Fox, and lost the right to broadcast it. Even so, I know that this is only the first of three additional years Keifer Sutherland signed a contract for. I could see Ricky Schroeder joining the cast, but I don't think Jack's going anywhere - at least not for a couple years.
