25 Years of D&D Tonight

Tonight at the game, the coolest thing ever happened. I pull up and there are these balloons tied to the mailbox. And other festive things put up on the door. I go in - I was early this time - and get to my GMing chair, then see all the various goodies, decorations, all sorts of things laid out. So I ask our host what's up, I thought your birthday was not for some time yet, and I know it's not mine... His wife, who hasn't played with us for some time, remembered that tonight... tonight was the 25th anniversary of our gaming group, the first night everyone played together. Our host, myself, and one other guy... there are others now, and others long gone, but tonight was.. very special. And she remembered it to the day.

It was just the coolest party we've ever had. We talked about old adventures, old characters, ate cheesecake decorated with D&D Collectable Miniatures, the whole nine yards.

Wow Wayne, that sounds incredible. I have been tinkering with the idea of doing a 30 year D&D Party at our next game.. going the extra mile with treats, flipping through our old books and recalling old tales for a good part of the game..

Sounds like you had a great anniversary!

Now THAT is special. That's awesome. I'd like to do the same thing -- if I could remember stuff like that!

Thats fantastic! I've been playing for 25 years, but in many different groups. To hold a group together for 25 years says a lot about your friendships and your game, congratulations!

What he said. ;) Very cool. Congratulations!

Very cool, congrats on having a great night!

That being said, it REALLY scares me that she knows to the day the first time you played 25 years ago.

Her husband is so screwed when it comes to anniversaries. ;)

Congratulations. Got to say I wouldn't know the exact date, but if we're going to celebrate the 30th anniversary my group should do it in september as that would be the 27th anniversary of our playing the 'only true game' (c) diaglo
