2600 joystick game

Atari Video Game System.

When they introduced the 5200, the original game system was then renamed "2600."

Of course, I could be wrong. I'd have to fish the box out from the deepest corner of my attic.

I do know that Atari once got into the PC business, following Commodore's lead. I happened to have the Atari 800XL.

Atari did not follow Commodore's lead. Atari's 400 and 800 preceded the Commodore 64 by almost two years. They had the Atari 400, 800, 1200, then 800XL and 600 XL. The 5200 was based on these 8 bit atari systems - because the games were already available for them - so all they had to do was port them to cartridges and they had an instant advanced game system.

The 8 bit ataris were also superior to both the Apple II and Commodore 64 in every way.
