D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] A Blind Character? Help

Well, I think I have seen a story about a medusa who willingly blindfolds herself to avoid petrifying those around her...:D

Which is kinda pointless, since the rules allow you to voluntarily suppress your gaze. But neat from a fluff POV.:p

That's... That's... Damn, that's an actually pretty good idea. Why didn't I thought of it before?! You deserve inspiration XP.

wow what a great thread, total opposite of that newbie looking to max out, what a tough character to roleplay. going to have to give it a shot.

I still think that it is masochistic to want to play a blind character. Blindness is a misfortune that must be overcome.
Well, _I_ think it would be a very intriguing character to play. I enjoy playing characters that offer a roleplaying challenge.

I'm just not sure if there is a good way to play one in a typical D&D game. There are ways to overcome the blindness penalties, of course, but that would be missing the point, imho.

Number one if your going to be blind pick up your two extra feats
Blind (3.5e Flaw) - D&D Wiki

Number 2:
Be human pick up another feat to cover your blindness

and if you find said chain (stated by an earlier poster)
problem fixed and you get the cool aspect of being blind.

Also Monks are good pc class to be blind once an enemy gets up
close (with blind fight) Your pretty much on even ground. What about
those long range enemies? Well it's a good thing your not alone.

Also if you check the link you can use your "listen" as "spot" so
max your listening prowess to pinpoint enemies as they move, and if high
enough as they breath.
