"Back to the voices, then. Everyone be ready to charge around the corner and attack, when I signal. Open the lantern then." Lars says. He turns around and heads back towards the voices, and when within what he would guess to be about 30 feet from the voices or the corner, he'll say quietly "Now!" and start running around the corner to the sources of the voices.

Orinar follows closely after Lars, his massive sword held ready to cleave a few hobgoblin skulls. At the holy warrior's cry, the giantkin rushes forward to engage the enemy.

Hobgoblins! (Surprise Round)

The group follows Lars to the west. The corridor goes for about 10 feet before zig-zagging north then back to the west. Ahead at this point can be see the opening into a room, which dances with shadows cast by faint, flickering flames, probably candles.

"Now!"

Lars and Orinar charge forward, leaving Menno and Kyl to follow.

The chamber is quite large, with a low ceiling supported irregularly by wooden posts. Five hobgoblins seem quite surprised by the sudden arrival of intruders. Two hobgoblins drop a long wooden table, which crunches one of them on the foot. The others hobgoblins have arms full of platters and bowls. Three of the tables already have some place settings.

The hobgoblins are armored and armed, but none of them have weapons at the ready...yet.

The party has a surprise round. One standard or move action, please. Also, I need initiative rolls, et cetera, for everyone. The map is here.

Lars Crichton, HP 11/11, AC 14 (t/ff 12), armor conversion 5

Lars continues his rush, charging at the nearest hobgoblin and taking a swipe at it with his battleaxe. "Have at thee!"

[sblock=ooc]Initiative of 14.
1d20+1=14

Standard action charge only allows him to move normal speed, which is up to 20 feet. So charging hobgoblin #1 on the map. +2 to hit, -2 AC for 1 round. Changes his AC to 12 (10 flat-footed/touch) for this round, and increased his attack bonus from +4 to +6.

Attack roll of 15, for 10 damage. Thank goodness for surprise, as I'm not sure if this will even hit a flat-footed hobgoblin. Sigh.
1d20+6=15, 1d8+2=10

Orinar moves wide around the table, intent on engaging the hobgoblin on the left. He holds his greatsword ready in hand as he moves.

Initiative: 13

Move action allows for only 20' movement, so Orinar moves to one square below and to the right of the first banquest table.
