3.5 at distibutors on monday!

I'm in Sydney, Australia, and the local store here is saying that his supplier promised him a July 7th date for when the supplier could get it TO the retail store. Thats July 6th in North America. Although this supplier has been wrong quite a few times in ship dates.

I think your info is a bit off. I work for a gaming distributor and the word directly from WoTC is we should receive it July 14th, a week from Monday. They are very strict on the July 18th release date and do not want our retailers to receive it until then. If anyone gets it any earlier than that, I am sure they will want to know.

As a counterpoint, my FLGS owner said that WoTC no longer gives "hard" street dates because they got tired of smaller gaming stores complaining about some of the larger retail chains getting WoTC products days or even weeks before the "official street date"....

Walmart tells me that mine should arrive by 7/02/03 meaning like 2 days from now. I know they lie but its interesting that it hasn't changed like 2 days before it SHOULD arrive.

My question for you guys is does your orders still say "processing" ? I ordered a long time ago but have never pre-ordered something. Is that what it says until they ship and charge the card? Or is mine just screwed up?

I called my LGS and they insist upon the release being at GenCon, despite me telling them multiple times they might want to check on that. *sigh* Does Talon Comics have any idea when Texas stores will have this?

All I know is my sales rep from WoTC sent me an e-mail stating:"3.5 books should arrive at your DC on July 14th.
Retail stores can begin selling the product on July 18th.
Not before! So basically, ship to arrive at your retailers
on July 18th." Sounds like a fairly hard street date to me.

Naturally, someone is going to ignore those dates that WotC would like held. I wonder who will be the first person on EN World to have the official books in their hands and starts a thread to gloat...only to spent the next few days besieged by questions from other posters...?

My Walmart order still indicates processing, which I think is normal. However, my dates indicate shipping between 7/7/03 and 7/11/03.
