3.5 Dwarves

I'm looking forward to the Stability bonus. My dwarf has such a high AC that when I move through a group of opponents, many time the DM will have them all try to trip me, so they can go against my lower Touch AC.

Based on my calculations, dwarves were already a 7 point race, when WotC was going the route of 6 points being the cutoff for ECL 0 races. Adding more abilities to them pushes them to the point where they're better than hobgoblins and lizardfolk, both ECL 1 races. Guess I'll need to be nerfing dwarves in my campaign. First step - balance the ability score modifiers by giving them a -4 Charisma instead of the wussy -2 Charisma.

(as for the "point" part, it's just a system I've been fleshing out that rates the relative power of races, wherein 7-12 point races are ECL 1, 13-18 are ECL 2, and so on. Seems to be working out pretty well and has shown some surprising things. For example, orcs are only a 3 point race!)

nah, go with -2 Dex instead of a Charisma penalty. we want to encourage dwarf paladins!

nah dwarf sorcerers. I've been itchen to play one for ages but my inner power gamer cries out and the -2 chr penalty stops me.

i'm probably alone here, but when i think elves i think sorcerer and when i think dwarves i think wizard. i had one campaign world back when i started 3.0 where those were the favored classes of the two races.

actualy I think the dwarf mentality other than the line we don't like magic, cause we're the D&D ludite coalition, fits wizards really well. And the elf descriptin fits sorcerer really well. I just like the image of a dwarf sor.(and I'm really hating managing spellbooks) All NPCs arcane types are sorcerer because I'm too lazy.
