Since the spell creates a field of tentacles, no touch attack is needed. Its very good for raping ground pounders...

Isn't that Evard's Hentai Tentacles?

IMC last Sunday the Wizard PC used EBT on the enemy forces attacking from the party's rear, resulting in a drawn-out death for the unfortunate mooks (1 eventually broke through and had to be magic missiled). It also blocked the party's retreat though. It's a powerful spell but it doesn't seem unbalanced.

Gotta agree with most people that no touch attack is needed.

Nasty spell.

Now I got a question of my own. What level of spell would you put a spell that worked just like EBT except that instead of crushing the victims it just held them? What about a spell like EBT but the caster could choose if the victims were simply held fast by the tentacles or crushed to death?
