That's consistent with the face/reach for a Large (long) creature as described in the Fiend Folio. Whereas a Large (tall) creature - an orge, frex - would have a face of 10 and a reach of 10.

You meant a face of 5 and a reach of 10. Large (long) have the reverse, face of 10 and reach of 5.

The only downside is that it will be harder to tell if a big creature may squeeze into a room through a door or corridor...
