[3.5, FR][Animal PCs][Recruiting] Animalia Unbound: Defenders of Cormanthor Wood

This sounds interesting. I'm not entirely clear on the character generation though. 40 point buy and you can increase your stats by 4 appropriate points per +1 level adjustment.
You've got it right.

What is the starting Effective Character Level? 8 (if you are a 3HD animal and take the full 5 ECL adjustment for stats)? 10 (the 8 above plus 2 extra animal HD for awakened animals)? Something else?
Beginning ECL may be no higher than 7. If you check the sblocked section youll notice than individual animals have a base ecl. Your animals' ECL is Base + Attribute Increase + Character Level. For example a Baboon PC that wants their full attribute bonus and starts out as a 2nd Level Sorcerer is: 0 + 3 + 2 = 5.

What sources are open for classes? Any WotC? Any d20/OGL?
Core + MIC + SC + All Completes; No Psionics.

Do the awakened animal stat adjustments apply? ("An awakened animal gets 3d6 Intelligence, +1d3 Charisma, and +2 HD. Its type becomes magical beast (augmented animal). An awakened animal can’t serve as an animal companion, familiar, or special mount.")
No; each player has 40 point buy to assign to all their attributes.

I like this idea too. I'd probably be interested in exploring the circumstances that have affected Voonlar, perhaps as some form of sentient plant-life. An animal druid might be interesting as well. I'd look for some variant that replaces Summon's Nature Ally spells, I wouldn't necessarily want to summon other animals.
I'd prefer all PCs to be animals.

If this idea continues progressing, I was wondering how the game would be played. By email, forum posting, instant messaging? How often or how much time would be expected from players? I'm familiar with 3.5 pen-and-paper playing, but I'm new to EN-World.
Forum posting. I'd like to aim for once a day updates with exceptions to Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays. 3.5 will be the system. When you post, you try to do as well as can for in-character detailing as much as you possibly can about what is happening around you, how you react, replying to any conversation or other whatnot.

Thanks for any information,
Charles
From one Charles to another, no problem. ;)

Is this campaign still in the works? It seemed to have fallen off the radar entirely a week or two ago.

I'm still interested. If I might voice an opinion though, might I suggest we do without the druid class for this particular campaign? It just seems to me that a PC who is able to transform into any animal species as needed would take away a great deal of the flavor and uniqueness of the other PCs. Considering that druids can also heal as well as cast buffing spells on themselves (as animals) that it would make this class the obvious choice for all PCs in this campaign. Plus it'd just add a slew of additional animal NPCs as companions to further water-down the campaign's theme. Just my two cents.

I would agree. I have been watching the thread to see if we have come up with some sort of critical mass. Looks like there is interest now by 3 of us.

Being the most interested in non standard race games, this sounds like it could be a fun one. I have a crazy concept for a baboon paladin with a dire bat mount ;p

How would gear/starting cash work in an animal game? The system is kind of built around getting/having stuff, so should we stick to normal rules A.K.A. lvl 7 starting wealth?

Can we buy the "war beast" template from MMII, or the "Magebred Animal" template from the Eberron campaign setting?

How about some even weirder mutations like the winged or insectile templates from savage species, or the acutal mutation table from d20 future? ;p

This sounds like a fun game. I am thinking that a Black Bear or Baboon Monk would be a fun one to play in this adventure. A baboon monk similar to Rafiki would be a hoot.

If this game is running I would be all in.

Looks like someone else would like to take the Baboon. Then I would go with the Bear then. And perhaps not monk. But I am not sure. I will consider...if the game is going.

Edit: Looking over everything I think an Eagle Scout would be the best for me. So consider my final proposal an Eagle Scout.
