Okay, it's 6am and my shuttle leaves to the airport leaves in less than an hour.

I finished the game. A couple things:

Based on, what I assumed was a group decision to let her go, I let her walk away.

Despite the lengthy conversation, the timing to witness the sun setting works out well enough that it seemed a good place to finish it - which is why I moved you out of the crypt. Sorry to puppet everyone like that. If it wasn't a one shot and if I wasn't leaving the country imminently, I'd have given you all a chance to decide what to do.

@Neurotic your intimidate was good but not quite good enough to get a full confession but the little bit of information she teased about the book was due to your roll. She really didn't like you - at all.

@Lidgar I though, maybe, you'd make a deal to agree to meet her at a later date to cast Gentle Repose on the elf for the information. Always an option if we were ever to pick this game up again.

As an FYI, Her opinions on your characters are not mine. I sometimes feel awkward playing NPCs like that because I never know if the players are annoyed at the character or at me.
But with that said, I'd love some honest feedback. Brutal, honest feedback - with a touch of caring love.

I admit that it was railroady but we had a tight deadline and the adventure was written for a video game apparently. I think, if this was a true ongoing game, I wouldn't have pointed you in a certain direction as much. Although, that was more for the opening scene than anywhere else.

I structured it:
Part 1: Opening Scene -
Part 2: how to get to the temple. You had two options, really. Stealth or market. In the end, you didn't use any of the items you got from the market - except a couple potions of healing and one casting of Find Familiar
Part 3: the written adventure (the crypt).

What did you like? What did you hate?

Edit: and you all level to 5th

Edit: I’ll write an epilogue when I get back

Have a safe and enjoyable trip! :D We'll see you when you return.

Ha! That is obviousl But it was a really good way to slow us down. We all want the chance to self-justify our characters' actions, to be the hero, and tick-tick-tick went the clock.

It was really fun. Playing a new character was a treat, and the constraints of one-single-night made a fun twist. You did great, and it was a fun summer shift.

Woo hoo!

Certainly, if you wanted to continue, I'd be down. Think about it!

Safe flight!

@TaranTheWanderer

First, thank you so much for the game. I had a wonderful time. I am a little sad Caer wasn't more active here in the last few days, but I was called away suddenly and unexpectedly for several days. It's an occasional peril of the life I lead.

Anyway, no issue with any of it. I think that the NPC was appropriately antagonistic, and, personally, I enjoy when things play out unexpectedly! Characters are supposed to have character, after all. But it was a perfect dilemma- uncertainty, antagonism, and the pressure of time.

The only thing I would change if I saw it in time and hadn't been busy is that I probably would have had Caer try to use herbalism or herbalism+medicine on the (maybe) dying guy, and Caer also has an inspiration point (from the market). Doh!

Anyway, at some point in the next week or so, I will level Caer up to 5, and if everyone else is game, and you want to do it, I would love to continue with these characters. I think I'm starting to get a good feel on Caer's character, and it's a bit different than I originally envisioned, so it would be fun to keep playing him.

We meet her in the next adventure, trying to find the way out of zombie bordered valley :)
And the next adventure starts with

This is the world where undead WON! and resources are getting scarce as food decays, buildings crumble and technology gets forgotten...you're first generation, you still remember the world as it was.

:D

I thought it might be fun to have Erin Tor as a refuge. It’s not out of danger, obviously, so trying to secure it from threats, figure out food, supplies etc and then eventually foray out beyond the valley. Also seems like a perfect location to set up Bastions for everyone.

@TaranTheWanderer
Agree with Snarf, this was a fun jaunt. I'm impressed we actually wrapped this up close to your goal. Well done.

I'm down for continuing with this group. Having fun running Deirdre, the elf with anger management issues (who just may or may not be a shameless rip off of Galadriel from RoP).

I appreciate in particular the effort you made to improve the round tracking in combat. And the moral ambiguity in the last encounter was a nice touch. Always good to sprinkle in some grey areas to keep us on our toes.

Safe travels!
