So, looks like nobody needs a short rest. Is it possible for Morgan to get one during all the chatting and stuff? I forget if you do 15 minute rests or 1 hour rests. If it's a 1 hour short rest, I'll take it at the end of the day by tagging it to the beginning of my Long Rest so Morgan can swap out spells.

I think that you've been generally pretty busy hiking around the city, avoiding undue notice. And I don't think that there was much delay before pushing south. So, no. I'm mixed when it comes to the length of a Short Rest. On the one hand, I think that the design of them being an hour is a mistake, but OTOH, it's what they chose, and shortening it could have unintended consequences, so I haven't "pulled the trigger" on any house rules for it.

Yeah, I'm a fan of narratively appropriate rests as well and I also feel that it makes more sense to wait until we settle in. But it never hurts to ask, right? :)

I assume, once we are an hour into our long rest, I can swap my spells, etc..? I won't start my Long Rest until later.

Meh, I agree with Tommi this time - trolls aren't (shouldn't be) too smart - cunning and ambush-capable...sure, but smart? If we are obvious they might just attack

What I worry is that we have no idea if there are three of them or the whole tribe - if we're badly outnumbered we might as well TPK and wrap this up. It feels a bit metagamey to assume that DM won't kill us :D
We don't know that trolls are actually trolls - not fomorians nor green hags or any number of monsters that peasants might call trolls
