OOC: we need one horse at the least because Sir Istevel’s injured leg slows him down.

Optional: If we all have horses, we will all be faster, in general, but I’m not sure we can all afford horses. I know Morgan can’t afford one.

Not sure we need pack animals.

I'll move this to the OOC thread.
OOC: with a scroll, I think I could copy tenser’s into my book then cast it

I like the idea of helping with the trolls and getting horses as payment. They won’t need them for labour anymore. I imagine the trolls are a distraction set up by Thay (like the gnolls were) We’d be announcing our presence but Morgan would agree that helping is the right thing to do. Now I’m kicking myself for not taking fireball.

If we could buy a Tenser's Floating Disk scroll (50gp?), and brought 50gp [of ink, I presume, though the way it's worded in the PHB it's the money that gets sewn into the spellbook] with 2 hrs work, the scroll could be written into the spellbook.

Is this something Tommi would come up with? It's hare-brained, so maybe, but seems to presume a lot about wizardry, which makes it unlikely.

We have 100gp from Isteval, and Tommi has more if it's needed (plus 3sp for the beer they've drunk so far, which I'll deduct when we leave).

So -- for comedy's sake, Tommi and Lionel showing up with a comfy chair or a divan, and a scroll makes for a way Isteval can travel easily but in slightly ridiculous style. It's also more efficient than goign troll hunting, fun as that might sound.

Stealing a horse (or pony, or mule) is still possible, as is overpaying.

Also -- very happy to RP this out, but also aware that splitting the party divides focus, and that's crummy in a pbp.

OOC: really up to you and Lionel. None of us are there. We will be at the South tower and will have to go with what you decide. The chair is hilarious. And we can still decide to go troll hunting once we meet up again. Provided we have the info. I vote the chair. Even if we still hunt trolls. I’d add a side table and expensive drink.

Sorry I've been swamped at work. I just haven't had time to get a post going. Lionel is for helping with the troll problem. That is just his nature. As a player this seems like a distraction to delay us. I am all for getting the spell and going that route if that is what everyone wants. I can hopefully catch up and get a post up tomorrow.

Just to warn you (not that I have been very quick to post lately at the best of times): I am traveling and short on time to post for the next couple of weeks.

I hope when I get back that we can all redouble our efforts to move forward!

I will try to keep us going in the meantime as well, I just don't know how well I will pull it off.

@Kobold Stew @Neurotic @MetaVoid @VLAD the Destroyer @Leatherhead

I kind of posted the same stuff IC:

Option: 1. Head south a bit, go off the road, camp and short rest. Once we have a base, we can scout a bit...but it will be dark.

What do you think???

I have Arcane Eye but it's not useful for scouting outdoors because the eye only has a 30 foot radius. Better to scout in person then, once we locate the troll camp, I can send it in to get information (listen in, get numbers etc...).

If other people don't need a short rest. Morgan can stay with Sir Isteval to take a short rest and set up camp while the rest of you scout. Once you get back, Camp will be ready. (kind of a bit like option 3)

Option2: Stay here, camp and reinforce the town?

Option 3: go looking for trolls without a short rest?
