With no more time to waste, Stratus strode forth. He stepped upward into the air, as if borne by the very clouds, and arrived on the ground behind the flameskull. By now, his sword glowed with a majestic light, and he brought it down on the back of the skull in an overhand swing.

OOC: If we're nearing a conclusion, I'm going to Nova. I'll Cloud Step to between the wall and the flameskull, charge up my sword with Channel Divinity, AND I'll Smite. He hits AC15 for 27 Radiant damage.

Gromlik yells, "That's it, keep it cornered! We'll take it down lickedy quick"1

It makes you feel oddly confident about destroying the undead.

Then you see the book, next to the sarcophagus levitate in the air then disappear.2

The skull screams,
"NO! That's MIIINE!" and fires a multitude of flaming rays but Stratus is in the way so it redirects more of its attacks on the goliath but they go wide.

1, Everyone who can hear Gromlik gets 1d4 to any attacks that effect the skull

2. Calyassa moves, grabs the book then moves. She fails at a stealth check so you guys know where she is for the moment but she's still invisible.

3.Flame skull fires two shots: 1st at the Tiefling then at Anson but, since it's in melee, ranged attacks are at disadvantage.
Calyassa; Anson: 2D20.LOW(1)+5 = [6, 18]+5 = 11
3D6+3 = [6, 1, 4]+3 = 14
2D20.LOW(1)+5 = [8, 3]+5 = 8
3D6+3 = [1, 3, 3]+3 = 10

It melee attacks Stratus twice and misses both times
Stratus: 1D20+5 = [8]+5 = 13
3D6+3 = [5, 4, 3]+3 = 15
1D20+5 = [9]+5 = 14
3D6+3 = [5, 6, 4]+3 = 18

Stratus was glad that they were now loosely allied with the Dwarf. The last thing that he wanted to do was to be forced to kill the living on a day like this one. He was still uncertain of their motivations - were they, in fact, tomb robbers, with no more justification than for profit? The dwarf professed himself to be a hired bodyguard, an act that in itself was no crime. However, if the actions of the invisible woman somehow prevented their success in lighting the beacon, it would result in a great loss of life and be a very high crime indeed.

All of this was in the back of his mind as he swung his glowing sword at the flying skull.

OOC: He hit an AC of 18 for 9 Radiant.

Anson stood where he was, raised his arm, and fired another flame-blade at the glowing skull. It hurt his joints to fire -- again, something that had never happened before. But the pain felt good somehow. He aimed, and the blade shot forth, and struck home.

OOC: Bonus: Aim.
Move: none allowed.
Action: attack with advantage and Sneak attack, against the flameskull. 1d20+5 (adv)=23 HIT for 3d6+3=13 psychic damage.

Havoc tries to punch the skull and he seems to be hesitant to touch the flaming thing, but then the other dwarf's voice echoes and his face hardens as he punches the thing straight toward Stratus.

In multiple threads or even multiple forums, I cannot roll to save my life, bless FTW!

hits AC 16 for 6 magic bludgeoning
neurotic: D20 + 5;D8 + 4#havocattackvsskull → 12; 6(7 + 5);(2 + 4)#Havoc attack vs skull

neurotic: D4#havokbonusfromgromlik → 4(4)#Havok bonus from Gromlik

Move: one square left (so the skull is exactly between him and Stratus)

The green skull, floating in the air cannot withstand the barrage of attacks and, with a final uppercut from Havoc, it splits in two pieces as rune-covered jaw-bone flies and smashes against one wall and the rest of the skull clatters in the corner.T

For a moment, all is quiet as everyone stares at each other,

"Well that wasn't very much fun. You guys didn't even give me a chance to whack it."

Then Gromlik leans in as if listening, "What d'ya mean time to go? What about that chest?"

"No."

His face turns serious and he gives you all a look - mostly directed at Anson - as if to say, "it's all YOUR fault."

"Fine"

There's a disembodied voice from near Gromlik.

"You've lit the brazier - hopefully it does whatever you were hoping to achieve. You can take what's in the chest. We are leaving; I'll find another way to pay for Gromlik's services."

"Hey, that chest is mine! And what about the burial? What about all of Levenshire's loot you promised?" Gromlik seems genuinely pissed off now but his frustration is instantly cowed as the Tiefling's shout fills the room,

"THERE IS NO BURIAL YOU IDIOT! HAVE YOU NOT BEEN LISTENING?"

It's absolutely clear that he has no idea what she's talking about but he says nothing else. An uncomfortable silence fills the room.

Edit: added a time stamp at the top for the purpose of spells etc...
For Spiritual Weapon, let's assume 5 rounds total has passed (2 rounds of combat plus some dialogue. @Lidgar )

"Yeah, the guy's a vampire or some such now. Running around." Havoc adds
"Told you she played you. She got what she wanted, and who cares about meatshield"

Gromlik Three-Teeth responds in Dwarven while gesturing at the chest,
"The only thing preventing me from getting paid," he gestures at the chest, "is you."
