Actually, seriously, how long before we start seeing lawsuits for books (not necessarily D&D, of course) that are too heavy in the Great Land Of Lawsuits And I Am Not Responsible For Myself Because I Am A Victim Therefore I Deserve A Massive Payout Because THEY Did It To Me?

Also, has anyone ever had a paper cut from a manila folder?

I have. For a while I was taking odd jobs and did some data entry. My job was to go through personnel files and enter information into a database. I received several papercuts as the result of manilla folders, which is why I still cringe every time I see them. OK, maybe it wasn't that much of a psychological trauma, but I am glad that I'm not doing that anymore.

I'm sure many of you are wondering why the sharpness weapon quality didn't make it into the DMG in 3E or 3.5. Well a friend of mine was a playtester for 3E, and one day he was at home with the book on the table, drinking some coffee. When he was clumsy and spilled coffee on his leg, he jumped up, knocked the book off into his lap, and....well....lets just say he's MUCH less of a man that he used to be. :(

So in horror of this incident and the first confirmed kill of 3E, the sharpness quality was removed from the books as too powerful.
Whatever did happen to that good ol' sharpness quality? Now it's just vorpal or nothing.

It might not be the books themselves. I've gotten a couple papercuts recently, it might be because of my bookshelf of keen edges.

Back when I was a non-person (i.e. a temp), I did a lot of filing for the company I now work for, and I swear, half the files for one program had little blood spots on them. They were packed so tightly into the cabinets that I banged up my knuckles and cuticles badly getting them out.

OTOH, I never had an actual paper cut.

Bah! You young'uns don't know what carnage really is - I lost both legs, one arm, and an eye to the old orange 1e NPC sheet back in 'Nam, and I was one of the lucky ones. Buddy of mine had his whole platoon wiped out by the original Deities & Demigods with the Cthulhu mythos section. You don't even want to hear about what the "Rod of Seven Parts" boxed-set was capable of.

Hey It's called "the Rod of Seven Parts" for a reason right?!
Buyer beware!

I was reading the 3.5 Players Handbook at a coffee shop the other day, and it flipped out and killed everyone in the place.

Player's Handbooks are awesome, and by awesome, I mean totally sweet!

Demiurge out.
