[3.5] How have they changed the Jump skill around?

I think the jump DCs are just too high all round. I can nail a 10-foot running long jump, and I definitely don't have any Jump bonus. In game terms, that means an ordinary guy taking 10 should be able to clear 10 feet, which means the task has a DC of 10.

Hence DC = distance for a running long jump, and doubled for a standing jump, would be a quick and simple fix to these problems.

[Edit: it seems 3.5E is already using DC = distance, in contrast to d20M]
