from a few weeks back.

EDIT: WalMart.com and Amazon are neck and neck on prices for the most part because Wal Mart charges tax and that adds on to the $58.74

I priced Amazon versus Walmart today.

Walmart, shipping to Fremont, CA, quoted $63.09 after $5.88 tax and $4.35 shipping, at the checkout screen

Amazon, to the same location, quoted $68.23, no tax and no shipping charges, at the checkout screen.

The direct link to the Walmart PH 3.5e is here.

Amazon.com has free shipping. My bill for th' pre-order (of all three 3.5e books) from Amazon was $62.91. That includes "no tax" and "free shipping".

On top of that I got 25 cents off for answering some of their silly trivia questions.

So far Amazon looks cheaper.

That, and Walmart is evil. Lawful Evil, naturally.

So what does that make Amazon, Neutral Evil? ;)

In the above thread, this guy is planning on preordering the core 3 rulebooks. He's planning on using Amazon's "Share the Love" feature, which lets him insert email addresses of other people who might be interested in the same thing. If those other people then order the core three, he gets a discount. And those who order it on his recommendation get a discount, as well.

$56.58 for all three with free shipping via Amazon.com.

See this thread.

Combine with this thread and I'll be getting my books for a grand total of $6.58. That's $2.19 each.

Sure, I'll have to wait a bit for the gift certificate, but I'm not DMing at the moment and my DM isn't sure he likes what he's hearing about 3.5 anyway. Besides, I'm paying just over 7% of the cover price of the books.

Do keep in mind that the Share the Love thing at Amazon only works if you order the books within a week of the guy who entered your e-mail address (considering that he's placing his order Friday, your VW gift certificate will probably not be available yet). Maybe all of us who are taking advantage of the VW promo should coordinate our orders and do our own Share the Love discount chain when the gift certificates become available for use.

Hey Talon... A question about shipping...

If I pre-order the revised rulebooks from you, and then add several other books so that the total is over $100, do I still get free shipping, even though the books don't all necessarily ship at the same time (I assume the books In Stock would ship ASAP)?
