[3.5] The Storm Coast

"Isóriand is correct," says Oswald. "I am a mercenary. We are usually hired to accomplish...how should I put this?...more specific objectives. It is rare to see a unit of us on a field of battle, for example." More pipe puffing. By now, thinning clouds of bluish smoke sweetly scent the chamber. "We're more likely to be found as military couriers, bodyguards, or commanders."

Theopholis is sitting on the floor with his back against the wall. His head tilted back relaxing on the stone behind him looking up at the ceiling with his jaw slightly open. His elbows resting on his knees. Once he hears the polearm whisping through the air he drops his head and watches the little display and nods and curls his lips with approval.

"I'm assuming your out here under orders... or are you out just enjoying the weather?"

He says with a slight grin and with a friendly air about his voice. Hoping the gruff stranger will elaborate on why a mercenary like himself is in the area.

Isóriand munches on the pepper bread, and waits to see is Oswald is willing to answer the question about what brings him here.

Isóriand and Ragg finish the last bite of their pepper bread, standing together near the center of the dark room. Theophilus rests against the wall near the entrance. Lyryc stands not too far from Theophilus.

"I'm assuming your out here under orders... or are you out just enjoying the weather?" Theophilus says with a slight grin and with a friendly air about his voice. Hoping the gruff stranger will elaborate on why a mercenary like himself is in the area.

Oswald nods, exhaling more smoke. "I am here on business of a sort," he says, pacing a bit. "This damp weather. Tightens the muscles, doesn't it?"

Isóriand munches on the pepper bread, and waits to see is Oswald is willing to answer the question about what brings him here.

Oswald, do you have anymore pipes?

Oswald chuckles, laying a hand on the halberd's haft as he paces by.

"No, this is my only pipe," he says, picking up his halberd and staring at Isóriand with eyes gone cold and hard. "But it's nothing special. The tobacco, on the other hand. Ah, that is something special. If you live, perhaps you can learn more about it."

The adventurers register the threat of those words at the same time they notice a strange tingling in the nose and mouth. Oswald lunges! Something in the air has unhealthy properties!

[sblock=Uh Oh!]
Everyone needs to post three things:

1. A Fort save vs. DC 15 to resist the airborne poison. Theo and Lyryc get a +2 circumstance bonus for being near the partially open door. If you fail the save, you're sickened.

2. An initiative roll.

3. Your character's actions for the first round of combat.

As usual, please use Invisible Castle for dice.

Caught off-guard by the man's breaking of Stormpeace and the sickening vapor in the air, Isóriand tries to maneuver to put the warrior Theopolis between himself and the foe. As he does, he brings up his bow, quickly knocks arrow and fires.

AC: 15, Hit Points 9

Fort Save: 11 (Failed)
Initiative: 08

Didn't see a map, but Isóriand will move away from Oswald so that Theopolis can engage in melee.

Attack: 20 (link shows a 22, but I forgot -2 from being sickened)
Damage: 8 (link shows a 9, but I forgot +1 from Point Blank Shot, an d-2 from sickened).

"Why you. you... ah-choo!!," the old wizard sneezes at the smoke that tickles his nose. The action probably saves him from the effects of the airborn toxin. He stands quarterstaff held in both hands.

OOC: You can separate multiple dice rolls with semi-colons on invisible castle. So for my PC, I would do:

1d20+3;1d20+5;1d8+3

(Initiative;Attack;Damage)

Stupid Software

As I was previewing the post of Lyryc's actions this freakin' thing logged me out. If this message does make it, let it be known that all my die rolls have been lost, and I am not re-rolling them again, for that would be cheating.

Luckily, however, I do manage to remember his actions and rolls, but sadly, because of it logging me out, my proof has now disapeared.

:(

The rolls I do manage to remember however, are his Fort Save failing with a 13 and an Initiative of 5.

:D

I do need to figure out how to make a die roll for a spell, for Lyryc, as far away from Oswald as possible, has cast the spell daylight, being an aismar, at the betraying Reckon.
