[3.5] The Storm Coast

Treachery! (Round 1)

As soon as the threat registers Theopholis springs to his feet, and throws the sheathe to the ground exposing his greatsword. As he approaches he tells the others - "Don't kill him if you can help it... I wanna know what he knows"

Oswald ignores Theophilus's advance in favor of Isóriand as the wood elf attempts to move away from the deadly halberd. Isóriand leans away from the initial lunge but is caught by the weapon's spike as Oswald sweeps it back toward him in a one-handed stance. Thankfully, the ranger's armor takes most of the slash.

"Why you. you... ah-choo!!," the old wizard sneezes at the smoke that tickles his nose. The action probably saves him from the effects of the airborn toxin. He stands quarterstaff held in both hands.

Caught off-guard by the man's breaking of Stormpeace and the sickening vapor in the air, Isóriand maneuvers to put the warrior Theopolis between himself and the foe. As he does, he brings up his bow, quickly knocks arrow and fires.

Oswald's free hand flashes forward, the knife edge chopping through Isóriand's arrow, breaking the clothyard shaft in two and deflecting the attack! Oswald grins evilly.

Lyryc draws on his innate magic, calling forth a brilliant spot of light before Oswald's eyes. It flares up like full daylight, and then just as quickly fades away, returning the chamber to its original twilight condition.

[sblock=OOC]
Isóriand has moved away to successfully. I handwaved the attack of opportunity since there's no map. Theophilus has closed on Oswald and can attack next round. Daylight shouldn't be usable for an attack, but Giant Boy didn't know that, or else he's thinking of the 1E PH. Either way, I decided, what the heck? and gave Oswald a Reflex save to avoid being dazzled. He made the save.

Next round's actions, please.

Treachery! (Round 2)

Theopholis having closed the gap between himself and Oswald has a go with greatsword. The long blade of the weapon swings around somewhat gracefully. Oswald diverts its arc with his halberd's haft, sliding the greatsword harmlessly away from Theophilus's mark.

Oswald counterattacks. Theophilus easily sidesteps what would have been a devastating blow from the halberd's axehead judging by the way chips of stone fly from the floor not far from where the fighter had just been standing. Oswald uses the momentum from this failed attack to spin the halberd into a second downward attack, slamming the haft into Theophilus's helmet, causing his ears to ring a bit.

Seeing the others in trouble Raggart tries to help, but his old body is not what it use to be. He tries to distract the villian instead of outright attacking hoping to give Thepholis a chance to cleave the man in two. The aged wizard's ploy works. Oswald shifts, raising his guard against Raggart...and lowering it against Theophilus.

Isóriand, bloody and bruised from Oswald's halberd, realizes that his bow may well be useless in this fight. The elf drops the weapon and draws his longsword, wading back into the melee, looking for a favorable position. Despite being sickened and wounded, the ranger was not one to give up easily, and his slash to Oswald's flank proves as much. The monk grits his teeth against the pain of the injury.

Now Lyryc grabs out his harp and will inspire courage for his teamates begining to sing a bard's all time classic, "The Will to Survive Long Enough To Kick a Traitor's Butt". The bard and his allies are filled with courage.

Lyryc-Round 3

OOC: Clealry Lyryc can't find anything else to do, but sing to give hope to his friends. BTW, it is sure hard to find songs. Hopefully, it will annoy Oswald enough to play the crazy song at him. :D

Now Lyryc shall continue his song:

Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
