D&D 3.x [3.5] Wildshape

If a Druid is 11th level he can wildshape into a dire ape right? He'd get all the apes physical stats, 2 claw attacks at full BAB, 1 bite at -5, and Rend right? And he'd get this all for 11 hours?

The Druid really is a combat monster.

Actually, he can do this starting at 9th level, when he gets Wildshape: Large, because dire animals are just animals now. And yeah, that makes druids a bag of melee own, especially when you consider that they now get animal buffs and barkskin stacks with natural armor.

Only at a +1 for all natural weapons, though. Or +1/4 levels for one natural weapon (one bite, one claw, etc.).

Well, it's either the normal progression to one natural weapon, or +1 to all natural weapons.

It's good to use it like that to beat DR/Magic...

It says if you have extra limbs you get extra attacks but would a wildshaped druid still get claw, claw, bit? Or do they get their normal number of attacks and they can choose to use their claw or bite with them?

You get a attack with your full BAB with your primary weapon(s), and an attack at -5 BAB with only 1/2 str to damage with your secondary weapon(s).

If your primary attack was "Claw", you'd get Claw Claw (assuming the animal has 2 claw attacks in their Full Attack Sequence, I think most of em do), at Full BAB and full str damage, and Bite at -5 to that, with 1/2 str damage.

If you only have one natural weapon, you do 1 1/2 times str damage with it.

If you're an animal that can use weapons (Ape, for example), and you were holding a weapon (Sword), you'd use the sword naturally (one swing for BAB 1~5, two swings for 6~10, etc), and get an attack out of each of your natural weapons at -5, and at 1/2 str to damage.

If you have the 3.5 books, look at page 299.

Note that Druid's Wild Shape description implies that other classes are not proficient in the natural weapons that they polymorph into.

It also has a 1 hr/level duration, you don't get low-light vision, as well as some other abilities you used to get (like a Cheetah's sprint).

Of course, getting the 'animal' type is fairly significant, IMO.
