3rd level wizard - Alter Self

Hello All,

My newly 3rd level Elf wizard is taking Alter Self as one of his newly gained spells.

Can people suggest some of the best forms to take for various benefits? For example, changing to a Troglodyte gives 30 minutes of +6 Natural Armour bouns, that sort of thing.

If you are playing in the FR, Avariel allow you to fly.

Troglodyte and Lizardmen seem to be common 'combat forms'.

Plus locathah and merfolk for swim speeds.

Just to agree with the above, Troglodytes and Locathah are the two forms I consider indispensable.
