D&D 4E 4E Cosmology & Yougoloths

Yugoloth were barely even in 3E, so I don't think they will make the cut for the MM anyway. Probably scattered into latter MMs, filling roles that feel appropriate for the individual yugoloth. I don't think they will become a real faction again.

The main advantage of the Blood War was an excuse to keep the Devils and Demons busy. Probably not so much the Demons: They can simply spend most of their time killing each other.
Devils were more of a problem, but I guess that's resolved with the whole "Devil's are trapped" storyline. Still makes you wonder what they do all day though, not all devils lend themselves well to corrupting mortals.

I don't like yugoloths as puppetmasters, but powerful infernal mercenaries endlessly searching for a way to resurrect their ancient masters? That's cool.

It's a wee bit confusing, because demonic/yugoloth doesn't make sense in the current scheme of things. Demonic is one thing, yugoloth is another.
It makes perfect sense. "Demonic" does not mean "Demon" and yugoloth are clearly "demonic". The yugoloths, since they were introduced, have been demonic beings that are independent of the structures of the Devils and the Demons. So it makes perfect sense for the ice devils to have been independent demonic beings before being tricked into servitude.
