D&D 4E 4E Modern

Well I hope everything gets back on track with your group. I hate that the drama of life sometimes gets in the way of gaming. I don't know about you, but gaming is usually my way to escape the rest of life's dramas.

Another minor revision

Sorry for another revision so soon, but something came up in our session last night. We noticed that the party's Gunslinger just felt underpowered compared to the other combat oriented characters, so we discussed replacing the current special ability with the quarry power that was given to the Tech Archer. I had thought about giving the career a static bonus to damage with one-handed firearms before, but realized that would make them too powerful with some of their attacks. I think this will act as a better option. Thoughts?

Not sure if anyone still checks this thread, but I meant to write up a little post-game analysis after we finished our campaign with the system and forgot to do so. So for anyone still reading...
It actually seemed to work out pretty well, which surprises me since this was my first attempt at this kind of thing. There were tweaks made during the process and I think some of the careers are either too specific or underpowered compared to others, but that might just depend on the style of game being played. One thing I learned from this was 4E works best with an action-oriented style of campaign, but I would probably not use this for something like gritty noir stories or a pure horror campaign. I am sure someone could adapt it to other genres, but there are also so many other systems out there that work much better for specific genre. But for our action sci-fi campaign, I think it worked just fine. Has anyone else been using this, and if so, what genre and how has it been working?

Feats are where?

Dirklancer,

Don't know if you've been checking this thread of late and I do apologize for not getting around to running a game using the rules you devised. But I'm getting to it. Finally have decided on a setting/use for the 4e Modern rules you so kindly wrote up and posted, but I noticed as I was recently looking through them that you have a full-page listing of Feats but only describe a dozen or so. Where are the remaining feats? Did you pull them from the d20 Modern [3.5] books or where? I realized that the inclusion of feats kind of takes the place of alpha powers from Gamma World, and they'd be necessary for customizing characters.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)
