[4e][Paragon] Kombat Kraziness (closed)

OK. I guess I missed something. (wall?)

Let me go get the monster manual and read their powers so I can figure out what's going on.; with two people on the far side of the target it seems wildly improbable that there isn't a square o the opposite side that I can get to that flanks...

Ah. I see. Since the marker that was closest to BB2 was stormrage I thought that it was stormrage (not the BWD -- who I thought had disappeared, I was going to minor:perception check to look for her... except that Glib wasn't likely to care)
(I confess to not having the icons memorized).

Ok. I suppose I'll take my lumps. It's time to play "save the over extended striker". Sorry guys.

The aura from the BBs makes the place around them difficult terrain. As an elf, you can shift without penalty through it, but not move normally.

To flank with Xak, you'd need to be on the 45 degree diagonal directly across from him, not just on a vaguely opposite side.

Sorry about the labels. They aren't attached to the tokens, so I have to retype them. I forget occasionally, or the old marker is often still close enough. And my priority is generally towards keeping similar looking monsters labeled over the others - if there's more than one type of a monster, then they really need to be marked in some way.

It's easy to get two identially looking battlebriars mixed up, but I thought it'd be somewhat easier to tell the Dryad from the shambler.

Just so we're clear, Stormrage Shamblers will have the red border on their marker to distinguish them from their non elite brethen.

Wow.. that last map has some loading issues it seems, at least for me.

Why do you have to retype the labels? Maptool has an option to display the labels that will show up after the screencap. View>Token Names, or Ctrl-T. They're off by default, so you'll have to turn them on each time you load the map.

Maybe you already knew, but there it is if you didn't. I'm nowhere near a maptool expert, but I've solemnly vowed to never run a pbp again without it, so I've been learning things here and there when I can.

I so wish that Tharos hadn't escaped... Body Shielding that crit into Tharos would make my day.

:gulp:

So I'm tempted to drop another crazy area attack onto the fray. There's a 6x6 square that has four enemies in it that's just begging for a thunderlance: 4d6+9 thunder damage, and push the creature 4 squares. If I move around to the south before casting, I could push BB2 through a few squares of stormcage wall, and possibly into the wall of fire, depending on how push interacts with difficult terrain. I'm not sure where that leaves Glib, since it would involve pushing the BWD through his square, but I think he'd be in a better position, especially if I manage to kill off BB2.

Only problem is that Xak is in the blast, too. I figure I should probably ask before dropping 4d6+9 on your head. What do you think? My second choice is probably a fireburst to hit BB1, BB2, and stormrage. Simple and safe, but it doesn't quite have that controller synergy goodness.

Ah, but I haven't used an action point yet this encounter, so I can save my starting AP for next combat...

Yeah, but it only works to one extra AP for this series of encounters. Still useful though.

IG, thanks. I didn't know that.

Sure, Thunderlance away. Though I'm going to hit you if you manage to crit Xak :P
Note that you don't have to push people directly away from yourself or in a straight line as long as each individual square is further away from you than the previous. Oh, and please choose not to push Xak so we can have a chance to regroup and maybe get some heals on Xak.

2 things:

First of all, I messed up. Torment made his save, but I forgot to remove the briar cage from his status block. Which is weird, because I remember deleting something in the status block that was supposed to be his cage. So let me know if you notice anything that's supposed to be there gone. I'd assume that Narbel is next in line for extra saves.

Second, YOU PEOPLE AND YOUR (*^*& CRITS!!!!! Ahem... At least this is only the easy encounter.
