Linear Guild

Thog - Defender/Striker
Nale - Leader
Sabine - Controller/Striker
Hilgya - Leader
Zz'dtri - Controller
Yikyik - Striker
Pompey - Controller
Leeky Windstaff - Leader/Controller
Yokyok - Striker

Granted, not all of them have been in the Linear Guild at the same time, but I presented them all for completeness' sake.

And for the WotC staffer...

Miko - Striker/Defender (She is definitely not a leader..)

Not exactly. I think the main disconnect is that the Leader role is not the same as what is typically meant by "leader" in the real world. I think the Leader role is based around the idea of making the other members of a team work better, by buffing, healing, or providing them with other bonuses.

So, as a bard, Elan is a Leader even if he hasn't got much leadership ability.

Personally, I think that calling such characters "Leaders" is basically giving a nice title to what is esentially a support role. I think most people would rather play "Leaders" than "Healers" or "Buffers". Just don't tell them that the "Cheer" is silent (and invisible). :p

Morrus: Defender
Piratecat: Controller
Rel: Striker
Umbran: Striker
Hypersmurf: Controller
Eric Noah: Munchkin

It's whats lacking from this 4 role model. The crazy person. In most RPGs there is one type of character whose job it is to be a compleat whackjob. The four types in 4E are all too sound in the head. Someone suggested Elan is a leader. No, Elan is crazy.

We need a crazy role.

Disney's Kim Possible (because I will not be out-geeked)

Kim Possible: Defender (she's doing all the heavy fighting)
Ron Stoppable: Controller (he's causing disasters that distract the enemy or change the battlefield)
Rufus: Striker (specialist, he strikes then is gone back into Ron's pocket)
Wade Load: Leader (provides intel, info, and support)

Then I shall go one further:

Team Go:

Hego - Defender/Leader
Shego - Striker
Wego - Controller/Striker
Mego - Striker (though not really much of one)

Team Impossible:

Dash - Defender/Controller
Crash - Striker/Leader (he's a medical doctor)
Burn - Controller/Striker?
